We present new spectroscopic observations of the early type, double-lined eclipsing binary V1441,Aql. The radial velocities and the available photometric data obtained by $ASAS$ is analysed for deriving the parameters of the components. The components of V1441,Aql are shown to be a B3,IV primary with a mass M$_p$=8.02$pm$0.51 M$_{odot}$ and radius R$_p$=7.33$pm$0.19 R$_{odot}$ and a B9 III secondary with a mass M$_s$=1.92$pm$0.14 M$_{odot}$ and radius R$_s$=4.22$pm$0.11 R$_{odot}$. Our analyses show that V1441,Aql is a double-contact system with rapidly rotating components. Based on the position of the components plotted on the theoretical Hertzsprung-Russell diagram, we estimate that the ages of V1441,Aql is about 30,Myr, neglecting the effects of mass exchange between the components. Using the UBVJHK magnitudes and interstellar absorption we estimated the mean distance to the system V1441,Aql as 550$pm$25,pc.

We report on observations of the eclipsing binary 2MASS 19090585+4911585 with the 25 cm auxiliary telescope of the University Observatory Jena. We show that a nearby brighter star (2MASS 19090783+4912085) was previously misclassified as the eclipsing binary and find 2MASS 19090585+4911585 to be the true source of variation. We present photometric analysis of VRI light curves. The system is an overcontact binary of W UMa type with an orbital period of (0.288374 +/- 0.000010) d.

We present the analysis of photometric and spectroscopic data of two classical Cepheids, FN Aquilae and V1344 Aquilae. Based on the joint treatment of the new and earlier radial velocity data, both Galactic Cepheids have been found to be a member in a spectroscopic binary system. To match the phases of the earlier radial velocity data correctly with the new ones, we also determined the temporal behaviour of the pulsation period of these Cepheids based on all available photometric data. The O-C graph covering about half century shows slight changes in the pulsation period due to stellar evolution for both Cepheids.

The first photometric analysis of V811 Cep was carried out. The first complete light curves of V, R and I bands are given. The analysis was carried out by Wilson-Devinney (W-D) program, and the results show that V811 Cep is a median-contact binary ($ f=33.9(pm4.9)%$) with a mass ratio of 0.285. It is a W-subtype contact binary, that is, the component with less mass is hotter than the component with more mass, and the light curves are asymmetric (OConnell effect), which can be explained by the existence of a hot spot on the component with less mass. The orbital inclination is $i=88.3^{circ}$, indicating that it is a totally eclipsing binary, so the parameters obtained are reliable. Through the O-C analyzing, it is found that the orbital period decreases at the rate of $dot{P}=-3.90(pm0.06)times 10^{-7}d cdot yr^{-1}$, which indicates that the mass transfer occurs from the more massive component to the less massive one.
Eclipsing binary DI Herculis (DI Her) is known to exhibit anomalously slow apsidal precession, below the rate predicted by the general relativity. Recent measurements of the Rossiter-McLauglin effect indicate that stellar spins in DI Her are almost o rthogonal to the orbital angular momentum, which explains the anomalous precession in agreement with the earlier theoretical suggestion by Shakura. However, these measurements yield only the projections of the spin-orbit angles onto the sky plane, leaving the spin projection onto our line of sight unconstrained. Here we describe a method of determining the full three-dimensional spin orientation of the binary components relying on the use of the gravity darkening effect, which is significant for the rapidly rotating stars in DI Her. Gravity darkening gives rise to nonuniform brightness distribution over the stellar surface, the pattern of which depends on the stellar spin orientation. Using archival photometric data obtained during multiple eclipses spread over several decades we are able to constrain the unknown spin angles in DI Her with this method, finding that spin axes of both stars lie close to the plane of the sky. Our procedure fully accounts for the precession of stellar spins over the long time span of observations.

We have carried out a spectroscopic variability survey of some of the most massive stars in the Arches cluster, using K-band observations obtained with SINFONI on the VLT. One target, F2, exhibits substantial changes in radial velocity; in combinatio n with new KMOS and archival SINFONI spectra, its primary component is found to undergo radial velocity variation with a period of 10.483+/-0.002 d and an amplitude of ~350 km/s. A secondary radial velocity curve is also marginally detectable. We reanalyse archival NAOS-CONICA photometric survey data in combination with our radial velocity results to confirm this object as an eclipsing SB2 system, and the first binary identified in the Arches. We model it as consisting of an 82+/-12 M_sun WN8-9h primary and a 60+/-8 M_sun O5-6 Ia+ secondary, and as having a slightly eccentric orbit, implying an evolutionary stage prior to strong binary interaction. As one of four X-ray bright Arches sources previously proposed as colliding-wind massive binaries, it may be only the first of several binaries to be discovered in this cluster, presenting potential challenges to recent models for the Arches age and composition. It also appears to be one of the most massive binaries detected to date; the primarys calculated initial mass of >~120 M_sun would arguably make this the most massive binary known in the Galaxy.
