We study the consequence of the neutrino mass anarchy on cosmology, in particular the total mass of neutrinos and baryon asymmetry through leptogenesis. We require independence of measure in each mass matrix elements in addition to the basis independence, which uniquely picks the Gaussian measure. A simple approximate U(1) flavor symmetry makes leptogenesis highly successful. Correlations between the baryon asymmetry and the light-neutrino quantities are investigated. We also discuss possible implications of recently suggested large total mass of neutrinos by the SDSS/BOSS data.

The cosmic neutrino background is both a dramatic prediction of the hot Big Bang and a compelling target for current and future observations. The impact of relativistic neutrinos in the early universe has been observed at high significance in a numbe r of cosmological probes. In addition, the non-zero mass of neutrinos alters the growth of structure at late times, and this signature is a target for a number of upcoming surveys. These measurements are sensitive to the physics of the neutrino and could be used to probe physics beyond the standard model in the neutrino sector. We explore an intriguing possibility where light right-handed neutrinos are coupled to all, or a fraction of, the dark matter through a mediator. In a wide range of parameter space, this interaction only becomes important at late times and is uniquely probed by late-time cosmological observables. Due to this coupling, the dark matter and neutrinos behave as a single fluid with a non-trivial sound speed, leading to a suppression of power on small scales. In current and near-term cosmological surveys, this signature is equivalent to an increase in the sum of the neutrino masses. Given current limits, we show that at most 0.5% of the dark matter could be coupled to neutrinos in this way.
The historical discovery of neutrino oscillations using solar and atmospheric neutrinos, and subsequent accelerator and reactor studies, has brought neutrino physics to the precision era. We note that CP effects in oscillation phenomena could be diff icult to extract in the presence of unitarity violation. As a result upcoming dedicated leptonic CP violation studies should take into account the non-unitarity of the lepton mixing matrix. Restricting non-unitarity will shed light on the seesaw scale, and thereby guide us towards the new physics responsible for neutrino mass generation.

We give a general analysis of neutrino mixing in the seesaw mechanism with three flavors. Assuming that the Dirac and u-quark mass matrices are similar, we establish simple relations between the neutrino parameters and individual Majorana masses. The y are shown to depend rather strongly on the physical neutrino mixing angles. We calculate explicitly the implied Majorana mass hierarchies for parameter sets corresponding to different solutions to the solar neutrino problem.
Neutrino mass sum rules have recently gained again more attention as a powerful tool to discriminate and test various flavour models in the near future. A related question which was not yet discussed fully satisfactorily was the origin of these sum r ules and if they are related to any residual or accidental symmetry. We will address this open issue here systematically and find previous statements confirmed. Namely, that the sum rules are not related to any enhanced symmetry of the Lagrangian after family symmetry breaking but that they are simply the result of a reduction of free parameters due to skillful model building.

Including the effects of the ${cal{O}}(gtrsim 1 {rm GeV})$ masses of the charm quark, $tau$ lepton and target nucleon in DIS phenomenology is discussed with applications to CC neutrino DIS: Neutrino data for $F_2$ are revisited within the global anal ysis framework. A fully differential calculation refines the CC charm production process as a gate to extract ${s(x), {bar s} (x) }$. New results are presented for a heavy quark version of the CTEQ6 set of PDFs and for ($ u_{mu} to u_{tau}$ oscillation-signal) $tau$ neutrino cross sections.
