Hermitian squared mass matrices of charged leptons and light neutrinos in the flavor basis are studied under general additive lowest order perturbations away from the tribimaximal (TBM) limit in which a weak basis with mass diagonal charged leptons is chosen. Simple analytical expressions are found for the three measurable TBM-deviants in terms of perturbation parameters appearing in the neutrino and charged lepton eigenstates in the flavor basis. Taking unnatural cancellations to be absent and charged lepton perturbation parameters to be small, interrelations are derived among masses, mixing angles and the amount of CP-violation.

We study a model for the mass matrices of the leptons. We are ablte to relate the mass eigenvalues of the charged leptons and of the neutrinos to the mxiing angles and can predict the masses of the neutrinos. We find a normal hierarchy -the masses ar e 0.004 eV, 0.01 eV and 0.05 eV. The atmospheric mixing angle is given by the mass ratios of the charged leptons and of the neutrinos. We find 38 degrees, consistent with the experiments. The mixing element, connecting the first neutrino with the electron, is found to be 0.05.

A new and novel idea for a predictive neutrino mass matrix is presented, using the non-Abelian discrete symmetry A(4) and the seesaw mechanism with only two heavy neutral fermion singlets. Given the components of the one necessarily massless neutrino eigenstate, the other two massive states are automatically generated. A realistic example is discussed with predictions of a normal hierarchy of neutrino masses and maximal CP violation.

We present a concise review of the recent important experimental developments on neutrino mixing (hints for sterile neutrinos, large $theta_{13}$, possible non maximal $theta_{23}$, approaching sensitivity on $delta_{CP}$) and their implications on m odels of neutrino mixing. The new data disfavour many models but the surviving ones still span a wide range going from Anarchy (no structure, no symmetry in the lepton sector) to a maximum of symmetry, as for the models based on discrete non-abelian flavour groups.

We discuss the neutrino oscillations, using texture zero mass matrices for the leptons. The reactor mixing angle $theta^{}_{l}$ is calculated. The ratio of the masses of two neutrinos is determined by the solar mixing angle. We can calculate the mass es of the three neutrinos: $m_1$ $approx$ 0.003 eV - $m_2$ $approx$ 0.012 eV - $m_3$ $approx$ 0.048 eV.

We discuss mass matrices with four texture zeros for the quarks and leptons. The three mixing angles for the quarks and leptons are functions of the fermion masses. The results agree with the experimental data. The ratio of the masses of the first tw o neutrinos is given by the solar mixing angle. The neutrino masses are calculated: $m_1$ $approx$ 0.004 eV, $m_2$ $approx$ 0.010 eV, $m_3$ $approx$ 0.070 eV.
