We present an analysis of top-antitop quark production and decay into a tau lepton, tau neutrino, and bottom quark using data from $9 {rm fb}^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity at the Collider Detector at Fermilab. Dilepton events, where one lepton is an energetic electron or muon and the other a hadronically-decaying tau lepton, originating from proton-antiproton collisions at $sqrt{s} = 1.96 TeV$ are used. A top-antitop quark production cross section of $8.1 pm 2.1 {rm pb}$ is measured, assuming standard-model top-quark decays. By separately identifying for the first time the single-tau and the ditau components, we measure the branching fraction of the top quark into tau lepton, tau neutrino, and bottom quark to be $(9.6 pm 2.8) %$. The branching fraction of top-quark decays into a charged Higgs boson and a bottom quark, which would imply violation of lepton universality, is limited to be less than $5.9%$ at $95%$ confidence level.

We report evidence for $s$-channel single-top-quark production in proton-antiproton collisions at center-of-mass energy $sqrt{s}= 1.96 mathrm{TeV}$ using a data set that corresponds to an integrated luminosity of $9.4 mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ collected by th e Collider Detector at Fermilab. We select events consistent with the $s$-channel process including two jets and one leptonically decaying $W$ boson. The observed significance is $3.8$ standard deviations with respect to the background-only prediction. Assuming a top-quark mass of $172.5 mathrm{GeV}/c^2$, we measure the $s$-channel cross section to be $1.41^{+0.44}_{-0.42} mathrm{pb}$.
One way to probe new physics beyond standard model is to check the correlation among higher dimension operators in effective field theory. We examine the strong correlation between the processes of $pprightarrow tHq$ and $pprightarrow tq$ which both depend on the same three operators. The correlation indicates that, according to the data of $pprightarrow tq$, $sigma_{tHq}=big[106.8 pm 64.8big]~{rm fb}$ which is far below the current upper limit $sigma_{tHq}leq 900~{rm fb}$.
We discuss the calculation of charged Higgs boson production in association with top quark in the MC@NLO framework for combining NLO matrix elements with a parton shower. The process is defined in a model independent manner for wide applicability, an d can be used if the charged Higgs boson mass is either greater or less than the mass of the top quark. For the latter mass region, care is needed in defining the charged Higgs production mode due to interference with top pair production. We give a suitable definition applicable in an NLO (plus parton shower) context, and present example results for the LHC.
We report the combination of recent measurements of the helicity of the W boson from top quark decay by the CDF and D0 collaborations, based on data samples corresponding to integrated luminosities of 2.7 - 5.4 fb^-1 of ppbar collisions collected dur ing Run II of the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Combining measurements that simultaneously determine the fractions of W bosons with longitudinal (f0) and right-handed (f+) helicities, we find f0 = 0.722 pm 0.081 [pm 0.062 (stat.) pm 0.052 (syst.)] and f+ = -0.033 pm 0.046 [pm 0.034 (stat.) pm 0.031 (syst.)]. Combining measurements where one of the helicity fractions is fixed to the value expected in the standard model, we find f0 = 0.682 pm 0.057 [pm 0.035 (stat.) pm 0.046 (syst.)] and f+ = -0.015pm0.035 [pm 0.018 (stat.) pm 0.030 (syst.)]. The results are consistent with standard model expectations.
We study the charged Higgs production at LHC via its associated production with top quark. The kinematic cuts are optimized to suppress the background processes so that the reconstruction of the charged Higgs and top quark is possible. The angular di stributions with respect to top quark spin are explored to study the $Htb$ interaction at LHC.
