In a recent work, a model has been proposed where a brane is made of a scalar field with bounce-type configurations and embedded in a bulk with a string-like metric. This model produces an AdS scenario where the components of the energy momentum tensor are finite and have its positivity ensured by a suitable choice of the bounce configurations. In the present work, we study the issue of gauge and fermion field localization in this scenario. In contrast with the five dimensional case here the gauge field is localized without the dilaton contribution. Nevertheless, it is remarkable that the localization of the fermion field depends on the introduction of a minimal coupling with the angular component of the gauge field, which differs clearly from five dimensional scenarios. Furthermore, we perform a qualitative analysis of the fermionic massive modes and conclude that only left handed fermions could be localized in the brane.

In this paper we study analytical solutions for fermion localization in Randall-Sundrum (RS) models. We show that there exist special couplings between scalar fields and fermions giving us discrete massive localizable modes. Besides this we obtain resonances in some models by analytical methods.
Brane world six dimensional scenarios with string like metric has been proposed to alleviate the problem of field localization. However, these models have been suffering from some drawbacks related with energy conditions as well as from difficulties to find analytical solutions. In this work, we propose a model where a brane is made of a scalar field with bounce-type configurations and embedded in a bulk with a string-like metric. This model produces a sound AdS scenario where none of the important physical quantities is infinite. Among these quantities are the components of the energy momentum tensor, which have its positivity ensured by a suitable choice of the bounce configurations. Another advantage of this model is that the warp factor can be obtained analytically from the equations of motion for the scalar field, obtaining as a result a thick brane configuration, in a six dimensional context. Moreover, the study of the scalar field localization in these scenario is done.
To avoid possible electroweak vacuum instability in the vector-like fermion model, we introduce a new singlet scalar to the model, which couples to the vector-like fermion, and also mixes with the Higgs boson after spontaneous symmetry breaking. We i nvestigate the vector-like fermion predominantly coupled to the third generation quarks, and its mass is generated from the vacuum expectation value of the new scalar field in the model. In this setup, as running towards high energies, the new scalar provides positive contribution to the running of the higgs quartic coupling, and the matching on the scale of the scalar mass gives rise to a threshod effect that lifts up the higgs quartic coupling strength. The two effects help stabilize the electroweak vacuum of the Higgs potential. Therefore, this setup could evade possible vacuum instability in the vector-like fermion model. We show that a large range of parameter space is allowed to have both stable Higgs vacuum and perturbativity of all the running couplings, up to the Planck scale. We also examine the experimental constraints from the electroweak precision observables such as oblique corrections S, T and non-oblique corrections to the Zbb coupling, the Higgs coupling precision measurements, and the current LHC direct searches.

We study the cosmological evolution of a D3-brane Universe in a type 0 string background. We follow the brane universe along the radial coordinate of the background and we calculate the energy density which is induced on the brane because of its moti on in the bulk. For constant values of tachyon and dilaton an inflationary phase is appearing. For non constant values of tachyon and dilaton and for a particular range of values of the scale factor of the brane-universe, the effective energy density is dominated by a term proportional to $frac{1}{(logalpha)^{4}}$ indicating a slowly varying inflationary phase.
Motivated by experimental measurements indicating deviations from the Standard Model predictions we discuss F-theory inspired models, which, in addition to the three chiral generations contain a vector-like complete fermion family. The analysis takes place in the context of $SU(5)times U(1)$ GUT embedded in an $E_8$ covering group which is associated with the (highest) geometric singularity of the elliptic fibration. In this context, the $U(1)$ is a linear combination of four abelian factors subjected to appropriate anomaly cancellation conditions. Furthermore, we require universal $U(1)$ charges for the three chiral families and different ones for the corresponding fields of the vector-like representations. Under the aforementioned assumptions, we find 192 such models which can be classified into five distinct categories with respect to their specific GUT properties. We exhibit representative examples for each such class and construct the superpotential couplings and the fermion mass matrices. We explore the implications of the vector-like states in low energy phenomenology including the predictions regarding the B-meson anomalies. The r^ole of R-parity violating terms appearing in some particular models of the above construction is also discussed.
