The lattice QCD simulation with the lattice chiral symmetry is very attractive, however, it is difficult to maintain the symmetry at a modest numerical computation cost. A candidate to reduce the computational cost during the configuration generation with the HMC algorithm is to relax the requirement of the chiral symmetry and to use the reweighing method recovering the symmetry at the measurement phase. In this talk, we presented the reweighing method to restore the chiral symmetry of the truncated overlap fermion operator. In order to avoid the large discrepancy between the truncated overlap operator and the exact overlap operator, we split the reweighting factor into several steps gradually increasing the order of truncation. We investigated the truncation dependence of the reweighting factor on a set of quenched $8^3times 32$ lattice configurations generated with the DBW2 gauge action. We found that a large fluctuation on the reweighting factor between a high-order truncated overlap operator and the exact overlap operator on a couple of configurations. The origin of the large fluctuation seems to be due to a small eigenvalue of the overlap kernel on these configurations.

We study the finite temperature localization transition in the spectrum of the overlap Dirac operator. Simulating the quenched approximation of QCD, we calculate the mobility edge, separating localized and delocalized modes in the spectrum. We do thi s at several temperatures just above the deconfining transition and by extrapolation we determine the temperature where the mobility edge vanishes and localized modes completely disappear from the spectrum. We find that this temperature, where even the lowest Dirac eigenmodes become delocalized, coincides with the critical temperature of the deconfining transition. This result, together with our previously obtained similar findings for staggered fermions shows that quark localization at the deconfining temperature is independent of the fermion discretization, suggesting that deconfinement and localization of the lowest Dirac eigenmodes are closely related phenomena.
We perform dynamical QCD simulations with $n_f=2$ overlap fermions by hybrid Monte-Carlo method on $6^4$ to $8^3times 16$ lattices. We study the problem of topological sector changing. A new method is proposed which works without topological sector c hanges. We use this new method to determine the topological susceptibility at various quark masses.
Recently a formulation of overlap fermions at finite density based on an analytic continuation of the sign function was proposed. We study this proposal by analyzing the energy and number densities for free fermions as a function of the chemical pote ntial and the temperature. Our results show that overlap fermions with chemical potential give rise to the correct continuum behavior.
We present a comparison of a number of iterative solvers of linear systems of equations for obtaining the fermion propagator in lattice QCD. In particular, we consider chirally invariant overlap and chirally improved Wilson (maximally) twisted mass f ermions. The comparison of both formulations of lattice QCD is performed at four fixed values of the pion mass between 230MeV and 720MeV. For overlap fermions we address adaptive precision and low mode preconditioning while for twisted mass fermions we discuss even/odd preconditioning. Taking the best available algorithms in each case we find that calculations with the overlap operator are by a factor of 30-120 more expensive than with the twisted mass operator.

We study QCD thermodynamics using two flavors of dynamical overlap fermions with quark masses corresponding to a pion mass of 350 MeV. We determine several observables on N_t=6 and 8 lattices. All our runs are performed with fixed global topology. Ou r results are compared with staggered ones and a nice agreement is found.
