We compute the holographic entanglement entropy in the gravity with higher curvature terms dual to d=4 N=2 SCFTs in F-theory using the method proposed in arXiv:1011.5819. The log term of this entanglement entropy reproduces the A-type anomaly of the dual SCFTs in F- theory using the gravity dual with the higher derivative term, which, using the field redefinition, can be transformed to the Gauss-Bonnet term in the subleading order of a derivative expansion. Our analysis shows that the 1/N^2 correction for the central charges should be produced from the gravity including higher derivative terms up to curvature squared terms. To obtain consistent results, we discuss the holographic c-theorem.

We study the behavior of holographic entanglement entropy (HEE) for imbalanced holographic superconductors. We employ a numerical approach to consider the robust case of fully back-reacted gravity system. The hairy black hole solution is found by usi ng our numerical scheme. Then it is used to compute the HEE for the superconducting case. The cases we study show that in presence of a mismatch between two chemical potentials, below the critical temperature, superconducting phase has a lower HEE in comparison to the AdS-Reissner-Nordstrom black hole phase. Interestingly, the effects of chemical imbalance are different in the contexts of black hole and superconducting phases. For black hole, HEE increases with increasing imbalance parameter while it behaves oppositely for the superconducting phase. The implications of these results are discussed.
Using the F-theory realization, we identify a subclass of 6d (1,0) SCFTs whose compactification on a Riemann surface leads to N = 1 4d SCFTs where the moduli space of the Riemann surface is part of the moduli space of the theory. In particular we arg ue that for a special case of these theories (dual to M5 branes probing ADE singularities), we obtain 4d N = 1 theories whose space of marginal deformations is given by the moduli space of flat ADE connections on a Riemann surface.
We consider the refinement of the holographic entanglement entropy for the holographic dual theories to the AdS solitons and AdS black holes, including the corrected ones by the Gauss-Bonnet term. The refinement is obtained by extracting the UV-indep endent piece of the holographic entanglement entropy, the so-called renormalized entanglement entropy which is independent of the choices of UV cutoff. Our main results are (i) the renormalized entanglement entropies of the AdS$_{d+1}$ soliton for $d=4,5$ are neither monotonically decreasing along the RG flow nor positive definite, especially around the deconfinement/confinement phase transition; (ii) there is no topological entanglement entropy for AdS$_5$ soliton even with Gauss-Bonnet correction; (iii) for the AdS black holes, the renormalized entanglement entropy obeys an expected volume law at IR regime, and the transition between UV and IR regimes is a smooth crossover even with Gauss-Bonnet correction; (iv) based on AdS/MERA conjecture, we postulate that the IR fixed-point state for the non-extremal AdS soliton is a trivial product state.

In this paper, we derive the universal (cut-off-independent) part of the holographic entanglement entropy in the noncommutative Yang-Mills theory and examine its properties in detail. The behavior of the holographic entanglement entropy as a function of a scale of the system changes drastically between large noncommutativity and small noncommutativity. The strong subadditivity inequality for the entanglement entropies in the noncommutative Yang-Mills theory is modified in large noncommutativity. The behavior of entropic $c$-function defined by means of the entanglement entropy also changes drastically between large noncommutativity and small noncommutativity. In addition, there is a transition for the entanglement entropy in the noncommutative Yang-Mills theory at finite temperature.
We investigate the effect of supersymmetry preserving mass deformation near the UV fixed point represented by the ${cal N}=6$ ABJM theory. In the context of the gauge/gravity duality, we analytically calculate the leading small mass effect on the ren ormalized entanglement entropy (REE) for the most general Lin-Lunin-Maldacena (LLM) geometries in the cases of the strip and disk shaped entangling surfaces. Our result shows that the properties of the REE in (2+1)-dimensions are consistent with those of the $c$-function in (1+1)-dimensions. We also discuss the validity of our computations in terms of the curvature behavior of the LLM geometry in the large $N$ limit and the relation between the correlation length and the mass parameter for a special LLM solution.
