Starting with a confining linear Lorentz scalar potential V_s and a Lorentz vector potential V_v which is also linear but has in addition a color-Coulomb attraction piece, -alpha_s/r, we solve the Dirac equation for the ground-state c- and u-quark wave functions. Then, convolving V_v with the u-quark density, we find that the Coulomb attraction mostly disappears, making an essentially linear barV_v for the c-quark. A similar convolution using the c-quark density also leads to an essentially linear tildeV_v for the u-quark. For bound cbar-c charmonia, where one must solve using a reduced mass for the c-quarks, we also find an essentially linear widehatV_v. Thus, the relativistic quark model describes how the charmed-meson mass spectrum avoids the need for a color-Coulomb attraction.

We compute the masses of the pseudoscalar mesons $pi^+$ , $K^0$ and $D^+$ at finite temperature and baryon chemical potential. The computations are based on a symmetry- preserving Dyson-Schwinger equation treatment of a vector-vector four quark conta ct interaction. The results found for the temperature dependence of the meson masses are in qualitative agreement with lattice QCD data and QCD sum rules calculations. The chemical potential dependence of the masses provide a novel prediction of the present computation.
We examine charmed-strange mesons within the framework of the constituent quark model, focusing on the states with L=1. We are particularly interested in the mixing of two spin-states that are involved in $D_{s1}(2536)$ and the recently discovered $D _{sJ}(2460)$. We assume that these two mesons form a pair of states with J=1. These spin-states are mixed by a type of the spin-orbit interaction that violates the total-spin conservation. Without assuming explicit forms for the interactions as functions of the interquark distance, we relate the matrix elements of all relevant spin-dependent interactions to the mixing angle and the observed masses of the L=1 quartet. We find that the spin-spin interaction, among various types of the spin-dependent interactions, plays a particularly interesting role in determining the spin structure of $D_{s1}(2536)$ and $D_{sJ}(2460)$.
We present ground state spectra of mesons containing a charm and a bottom quark. For the charm quark we use overlap valence quarks while a non-relativistic formulation is utilized for the bottom quark on a background of 2+1+1 flavors HISQ gauge confi gurations generated by the MILC collaboration. The hyperfine splitting between $1S$ states of $B_c$ mesons is found to be $56^{+4}_{-3}$ MeV. We also study the baryons containing only charm and bottom quarks and predict their ground state masses. Results are obtained at three lattice spacings.
Single-particle energies of the $Lambda_c$ chamed baryon are obtained in several nuclei from the relevant self-energy constructed within the framework of a perturbative many-body approach. Results are presented for a charmed baryon-nucleon ($Y_cN$) p otential based on a SU(4) extension of the meson-exchange hyperon-nucleon potential $tilde A$ of the J{u}lich group. Three different models (A, B and C) of this interaction, that differ only on the values of the couplings of the scalar $sigma$ meson with the charmed baryons, are considered. Phase shifts, scattering lengths and effective ranges are computed for the three models and compared with those predicted by the $Y_cN$ interaction derived in Eur. Phys. A {bf 54}, 199 (2018) from the extrapolation to the physical pion mass of recent results of the HAL QCD Collaboration. Qualitative agreement is found for two of the models (B and C) considered. Our results for $Lambda_c$-nuclei are compatible with those obtained by other authors based on different models and methods. We find a small spin-orbit splitting of the $p-, d-$ and $f-$wave states as in the case of single $Lambda$-hypernuclei. The level spacing of $Lambda_c$ single-particle energies is found to be smaller than that of the corresponding one for hypernuclei. The role of the Coulomb potential and the effect of the coupling of the $Lambda_cN$ and $Sigma_cN$ channels on the single-particle properties of $Lambda_c-$nuclei are also analyzed. Our results show that, despite the Coulomb repulsion between the $Lambda_c$ and the protons, even the less attractive one of our $Y_cN$ models (model C) is able to bind the $Lambda_c$ in all the nuclei considered. The effect of the $Lambda_cN-Sigma_cN$ coupling is found to be almost negligible due to the large mass difference of the $Lambda_c$ and $Sigma_c$ baryons.
We develop for charmed hadron production in relativistic heavy-ion collisions a comprehensive coalescence model that includes an extensive set of $s$ and $p$-wave hadronic states as well as the strict energy-momentum conservation, which ensures the b oost invariance of the coalescence probability and the thermal limit of the produced hadron spectrum. By combining our hadronization scheme with an advanced Langevin-hydrodynamics model that incorporates both elastic and inelastic energy loss of heavy quarks inside the dynamical quark-gluon plasma, we obtain a successful description of the $p_mathrm{T}$-integrated and differential $Lambda_c/D^0$ and $D_s/D^0$ ratios measured at RHIC and the LHC. We find that including the effect of radial flow of the medium is essential for describing the enhanced $Lambda_c/D^0$ ratio observed in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. We also find that the puzzling larger $Lambda_c/D^0$ ratio observed in Au+Au collisions at RHIC than in Pb+Pb collisions at the LHC is due to the interplay between the effects of the QGP radial flow and the charm quark transverse momentum spectrum at hadronization. Our study further suggests that charmed hadrons have larger sizes in medium than in vacuum.
