In 2009, it was shown that, with an original approach to hydrodynamic cavitation, a phenomenological model was realized in order to compute some of the physical parameters needed for the design of the most common technological applications (turbo-machinery, etc.) with an economical saving in planning because this analysis could allow engineers to reduce the experimental tests and the consequent costs in the design process. Here the same approach has been used to obtain range of some physical quantity for jet engine optimization.

In this work, the relationship between Carnot engine and Szilard engine was discussed. By defining the available information about the temperature difference between two heat reservoirs, the Carnot engine was found to have a same physical essence wit h Szilard engine: lossless conversion of available information. Thus, a generalized Carnots theorem for wider scope of application can be described as all the available information is 100% coded into work.
The physical aspects - mechanics and thermodynamics - of operation of martensite rotor heat engine (MRHE) on the basis of martensite-austenite structural phase transition with the transition temperature in the region of low-potential water temperatur es have been studied. The engine converts the thermal energy of low-potential water into the elastic energy of working body (spring, ribbon or wire) made of the material with shape memory effect. At some simplifying assumptions, the analytical expressions are obtained for the thermal efficiency and the power of MRHE of different type. The registration of head hydraulic resistance and heat conductivity of working body material is made and the maximum value of power produced by the engine at the given mechanical and heat conditions is calculated. The recommendations are given on the optimal choice of engine parameters. On the basis of numerical estimations for nitinol, the possibility of application of MRHE is shown for efficient and ecologically pure production of electric energy both on local (geothermal waters, waste water of industrial enterprises, etc.) and global (warm ocean stream) scales.
We present an optimal analysis for a quantum mechanical engine working between two energy baths within the framework of relativistic quantum mechanics, adopting a first-order correction. This quantum mechanical engine, with the direct energy leakage between the energy baths, consists of two adiabatic and two isoenergetic processes and uses a three-level system of two non-interacting fermions as its working substance. Assuming that the potential wall moves at a finite speed, we derive the expression of power output and, in particular, reproduce the expression for the efficiency at maximum power.
We formulate a novel approach to decoherence based on neglecting observationally inaccessible correlators. We apply our formalism to a renormalised interacting quantum field theoretical model. Using out-of-equilibrium field theory techniques we show that the Gaussian von Neumann entropy for a pure quantum state increases to the interacting thermal entropy. This quantifies decoherence and thus measures how classical our pure state has become. The decoherence rate is equal to the single particle decay rate in our model. We also compare our approach to existing approaches to decoherence in a simple quantum mechanical model. We show that the entropy following from the perturbative master equation suffers from physically unacceptable secular growth.
Sinai chaos is characterized by exponential divergence between neighboring trajectories of a point billiard. If the repulsive potential of the finite-diameter fixed particle in the middle of the table is made smooth, the Sinai divergence persists wit h finite measure. So it does if the smooth potential is made attractive. So it still does if the potential is in addition made time-dependent (periodic). Then a systematic decrease in energy of the moving particle can be predicted to occur in both time directions for a long time. If so, classical entropy acquires an analog in real space.
