Recently, Bern, Carrasco and Johansson conjectured dual identities inside the gluon tree scattering amplitudes. In this paper, we use the properties of the heterotic string and open string tree scattering amplitudes to refine and derive these dual identities. These identities can be carried over to loop amplitudes using the unitarity method. Furthermore, given the $M$-gluon (as well as gluon-gluino) tree amplitudes, $M$-graviton (as well as graviton-gravitino) tree scattering amplitudes can be written down immediately, avoiding the derivation of Feynman rules and the evaluation of Feynman diagrams for graviton scattering amplitudes.

We present the analytic form of the two-loop four-graviton scattering amplitudes in Einstein gravity. To remove ultraviolet divergences we include counterterms quadratic and cubic in the Riemann curvature tensor. The two-loop numerical unitarity appr oach is used to deal with the challenging momentum dependence of the interactions. We exploit the algebraic properties of the integrand of the amplitude in order to map it to a minimal basis of Feynman integrals. Analytic expressions are obtained from numerical evaluations of the amplitude. Finally, we show that four-graviton scattering observables depend on fewer couplings than naively expected.
Recently, Bjerrum-Bohr, Damgaard, Feng and Sondergaard derived a set of new interesting quadratic identities of the Yang-Mills tree scattering amplitudes. Here we comment that these quadratic identities of YM amplitudes actually follow directly from the KLT relation for graviton-dilaton-axion scattering amplitudes (in 4 dimensional spacetime). This clarifies their physical origin and also provides a simpler version of the new identities. We also comment that the recently discovered Bern-Carrasco-Johansson identities of YM helicity amplitudes can be verified by using (repeatedly) the Schouten identity. We also point out additional quadratic identities that can be written down from the KLT relations.
In this paper we study the coupling of scalar (Higgs) particles ($phi$) with gravitons ($h$) and their possible effects. The general form of the 3-point interaction $phi(p) h(1)h(2)$ can be derived using the scaling behavior of the spinor variables u nder the little group; the resulting vertices exhibit such simplicity, that some simplifications should be hidden in the expressions obtained from the extended scalar action. To investigate this, we study an extended Einstein-Hilbert action that besides the minimal coupling, it also includes terms of the form $phi R^2$, $phi R^{mu u} R_{mu u}$ and $phi R^{mu urhosigma} R_{mu urhosigma}$, as well as the term $epsilon_{mu u alphabeta} phi_5 R^{mu u}_{rhosigma} R^{alphabetarhosigma}$ for the case of a pseudo-scalar ($phi_5$). The resulting vertices satisfy KLT-type relations, i.e., they can be written as the square of the coupling of the Higgs with gluons. We find that the amplitude for the Higgs decay into a pair of gravitons (on-shell) only receives a contribution coming from the square of the Riemann tensor. Similar results are obtained for the 3-body decay $phi to h h^* (to XX)$, with an off-shell graviton ($h^*$) that goes into the final state $XX$. One could expect that these quadratic terms can produce new loop effects, however we find that the new contribution from this non-minimal coupling to the graviton self-energy, also vanishes for on-shell gravitons.
We show that the form of the recently proposed subleading soft graviton and gluon theorems in any dimension are severely constrained by elementary arguments based on Poincare and gauge invariance as well as a self-consistency condition arising from t he distributional nature of scattering amplitudes. Combined with the assumption of a local form as it would arise from a Ward identity the orbital part of the subleading operators is completely fixed by the leading universal Weinberg soft pole behavior. The polarization part of the differential subleading soft operators in turn is determined up to a single numerical factor for each hard leg at every order in the soft momentum expansion. In four dimensions, factorization of the Lorentz group allows to fix the subleading operators completely.
We consider finite superamplitudes of N=1 matter, and use superconformal symmetry to derive powerful first-order differential equations for them. Due to on-shell collinear singularities, the Ward identities have an anomaly, which is obtained from low er-loop information. We show that in the five-particle case, the solution to the equations is uniquely fixed by the expected analytic behavior. We apply the method to a non-planar two-loop five-particle integral.
