We consider fermions in a zero-temperature superconducting anti-de Sitter domain wall solution and find continuous bands of normal modes. These bands can be either partially filled or totally empty and gapped. We present a semi-classical argument which approximately captures the main features of the normal mode spectrum.

We consider a holographic superconductor with homogeneous impurities added. We start with the holographic Abelian-Higgs model for s-wave superconductivity, and turn on a coupling between the gauge field and a new massive gauge field that is introduce d for impurities, whose effect is examined in the probe limit. We find that the condensation of the massive gauge field is induced in the superconducting phase. When the coupling is sufficiently large, the mass gap in the optical conductivity disappears. A resonance peak is found in the conductivity for the massive vector field.
We propose a novel mechanism to achieve superconductivity at zero chemical potential, within the holographic framework. Extending previous construction of the holographic superconductors, we consider an Einstein-Maxwell system coupled with two intera cting scalars in Anti-de Sitter space. One of the scalar fields is charged and therefore, interacts non-trivially with the gauge field, while the other is uncharged. We find that, if we turn on a boundary source for the uncharged scalar field, it forces the condensation of the charged scalar, leading to a superconducting phase in the dual boundary theory. The condensation occurs at a certain critical value of the source, depending on the value of the chemical potential, which can even be zero. We work out the complete phase diagram of this scenario. We further corroborate the existence of superconductivity at zero chemical potential, through a fluctuation analysis on our solution. Notably, the conductivity of the system, as a function of probing frequency, exhibits characteristics of usual holographic superconductors. We also investigate how these properties of the system changes, as we vary the interaction strength between the scalar fields. Our results indicate a controlled mechanism to manipulate the phase transition temperature of superconductors with strongly coupled microscopics.
In this paper we study the zero energy solutions of the Dirac equation in the background of a $Z_2$ vortex of a non-Abelian gauge model with three charged scalar fields. We determine the number of the fermionic zero modes giving their explicit form for two specific Ansatze.
We consider fermion correlators in non-abelian holographic superconductors. The spectral function of the fermions exhibits several interesting features such as support in displaced Dirac cones and an asymmetric distribution of normal modes. These fea tures are compared to similar ones observed in angle resolved photoemission experiments on high T_c superconductors. Along the way we elucidate some properties of p-wave superconductors in AdS_4 and discuss the construction of SO(4) superconductors.
We study the Kibble-Zurek mechanism in a 2d holographic p-wave superconductor model with a homogeneous source quench on the critical point. We derive, on general grounds, the scaling of the Kibble-Zurek time, which marks breaking-down of adiabaticity . It is expressed in terms of four critical exponents, including three static and one dynamical exponents. Via explicit calculations within a holographic model, we confirm the scaling of the Kibble-Zurek time and obtain the scaling functions in the quench process. We find the results are formally similar to a homogeneous quench in a higher dimensional holographic s-wave superconductor. The similarity is due to the special type of quench we take. We expect differences in the quench dynamics if the condition of homogeneous source and dominance of critical mode are relaxed.
