In this talk, we describe recent developments in the Skyrme model. Our main focus is on discussing various effects which need to be taken into account, when calculating the properties of light atomic nuclei in the Skyrme model. We argue that an important step is to understand spinning Skyrmions and discuss the theory of relative equilibria in this context.

We review recent developments in the type IIB matrix model, which was conjectured to be a nonperturbative formulation of superstring theory. In the first part we review the recent results for the Euclidean model, which suggest that SO(10) symmetry is spontaneously broken. In the second part we review the recent results for the Lorentzian model. In particular, we discuss Monte Carlo results, which suggest that (3+1)-dimensional expanding universe emerges dynamically. We also discuss some results suggesting the emergence of exponential expansion and the power-law expansion at later times. The behaviors at much later times are studied by the classical equation of motion. We discuss a solution representing 3d expanding space, which suggests a possible solution to the cosmological constant problem.

In this talk I discuss some recent developments in physics beyond the Standard Model. After some initial comments on neutrino masses, I discuss the status of low-energy supersymmetry and finally turn to describing some recent work in theories with ex tra spatial dimensions. We review recent developments in the perturbative QCD approach to exclusive hadronic B meson decays. We discuss the important next-to-leading-order corrections to B -> pi K, pi pi, and the penguin-dominated B -> PV modes, where P (V) is a pseudo-scalar (vector) meson.

I shall recall in historical perspective some results from nineties and show further how $kappa$-deformed symmetries and $kappa$-Minkowski space inspired DSR (Doubly of Deformed Special Relativity) approach proposed after 2000. As very recent develop ment I shall show how to describe quantum-covariant $kappa$-deformed phase spaces by passing from Hopf algebras to Hopf algebroids (arXiv:1507.02612) and I will briefly describe the $kappa$-deformations of $AdS_5 times S^5$ superstring target spaces (arXiv:1510.030.83).
We present an overview of recent developments in the tmLQCD software suite. We summarise the features of the code, including actions and operators implemented. In particular, we discuss the optimisation efforts for modern architectures using the Blue Gene/Q system as an example.
