An exact spherically symmetric black hole solution of a recently proposed noncommutative gravity theory based on star products and twists is constructed. This is the first nontrivial exact solution of that theory. The resulting noncommutative black hole quite naturally exhibits holographic behavior; outside the horizon it has a fuzzy shell-like structure, inside the horizon it has a noncommutative de Sitter geometry. The star product and twist contain Killing vectors and act non-trivially on tensors except the metric, which is central in the algebra. The method used can be applied whenever there are enough spacetime symmetries. This includes noncommutati

We extract exact charged black-hole solutions with flat transverse sections in the framework of D-dimensional Maxwell-f(T) gravity, and we analyze the singularities and horizons based on both torsion and curvature invariants. Interestingly enough, we find that in some particular solution subclasses there appear more singularities in the curvature scalars than in the torsion ones. This difference disappears in the uncharged case, or in the case where f(T) gravity becomes the usual linear-in-T teleparallel gravity, that is General Relativity. Curvature and torsion invariants behave very differently when matter fields are present, and thus f(R) gravity and f(T) gravity exhibit different features and cannot be directly re-casted each other.
We give a general derivation, for any static spherically symmetric metric, of the relation $T_h=frac{cal K}{2pi}$ connecting the black hole temperature ($T_h$) with the surface gravity ($cal K$), following the tunneling interpretation of Hawking radi ation. This derivation is valid even beyond the semi classical regime i. e. when quantum effects are not negligible. The formalism is then applied to a spherically symmetric, stationary noncommutative Schwarzschild space time. The effects of back reaction are also included. For such a black hole the Hawking temperature is computed in a closed form. A graphical analysis reveals interesting features regarding the variation of the Hawking temperature (including corrections due to noncommutativity and back reaction) with the small radius of the black hole. The entropy and tunneling rate valid for the leading order in the noncommutative parameter are calculated. We also show that the noncommutative Bekenstein-Hawking area law has the same functional form as the usual one.
Exact solutions describing rotating black holes can offer important tests for alternative theories of gravity, motivated by the dark energy and dark matter problems. We present an analytic rotating black hole solution for a class of vector-tensor the ories of modified gravity, valid for arbitrary values of the rotation parameter. The new configuration is characterised by parametrically large deviations from the Kerr-Newman geometry, controlled by non-minimal couplings between vectors and gravity. It has an oblate horizon in Boyer-Lindquist coordinates, and it can rotate more rapidly and have a larger ergosphere than black holes in General Relativity (GR) with the same asymptotic properties. We analytically investigate the features of the innermost stable circular orbits for massive objects on the equatorial plane, and show that stable orbits lie further away from the black hole horizon with respect to rotating black holes in GR. We also comment on possible applications of our findings for the extraction of rotational energy from the black hole.
A phase of massive gravity free from pathologies can be obtained by coupling the metric to an additional spin-two field. We study the gravitational field produced by a static spherically symmetric body, by finding the exact solution that generalizes the Schwarzschild metric to the case of massive gravity. Besides the usual 1/r term, the main effects of the new spin-two field are a shift of the total mass of the body and the presence of a new power-like term, with sizes determined by the mass and the shape (the radius) of the source. These modifications, being source dependent, give rise to a dynamical violation of the Strong Equivalence Principle. Depending on the details of the coupling of the new field, the power-like term may dominate at large distances or even in the ultraviolet. The effect persists also when the dynamics of the extra field is decoupled.
A family of exact conformal field theories is constructed which describe charged black strings in three dimensions. Unlike previous charged black hole or extended black hole solutions in string theory, the low energy spacetime metric has a regular in ner horizon (in addition to the event horizon) and a timelike singularity. As the charge to mass ratio approaches unity, the event horizon remains but the singularity disappears.
