The crystal structure of the layered iron arsenide Sr3Sc2O5Fe2As2 was determined between 300 and 10 K. The lattice parameters of the tetragonal cell decrease anisotropically according to delta(c)/c : delta(a)/a = 4.2, which results in a slight flattening of the As-Fe-As bond angle within the FeAs layers. No indication of a structural instability could be detected. 57Fe Moessbauer spectroscopic data show a single signal at 4.2, 77, and 298 K, respectively, subjected to quadrupole splitting. The isomer shift increases from 0.36(1) mm/s at 298 K to 0.49(1) mm/s at 4.2 K. No indication for magnetic ordering was found.
The crystal structure of the new superconductor UTe2 has been investigated for the first time at low temperature (LT) of 2.7 K, just closely above the superconducting transition temperature of about 1.7 K by single crystal neutron diffraction, in ord
We report on the magnetic behavior of oxygen deficient LaFeAsO1-x (x-0.10) compound, prepared by one-step synthesis, which crystallizes in the tetragonal (S.G. P4/nmm) structure at room temperature. Resistivity measurements show a strong anomaly near
Magnetic measurements and 57Fe Mossbauer spectroscopy studies were performed on oxygen- deficient high temperature superconductor SmFeAsO0.85 with TC=52.4 K. The upper-critical behavior (HC2) values were extracted from the real part of ac measurement
Single crystals of the Kitaev spin-liquid candidate $alpha$-RuCl$_3$ have been studied to determine low-temperature bulk properties, structure and the magnetic ground state. Refinements of x-ray diffraction data show that the low temperature crystal
We present a detailed local probe study of the magnetic order in the oxychalcogenide La2O2Fe2OSe2 utilizing 57Fe Moessbauer, 139La NMR, and muon spin relaxation spectroscopy. This system can be regarded as an insulating reference system of the Fe ars
