We show theoretically that polariton pairs with a high degree of polarization entanglement can be produced through parametric scattering. We demonstrate that it can emerge in coincidence experiments, even at low excitation densities where the dynamics is dominated by incoherent photoluminesce. Our analysis is based on a microscopic quantum statistical approach that treats coherent and incoherent processes on an equal footing, thus allowing for a quantitative assessment of the amount of entanglement under realistic experimental conditions. This result puts forward the robustness of pair correlations in solid-state devices, even when noise dominates one-body correlations.

Partial teleportation of entanglement is to teleport one particle of an entangled pair through a quantum channel. This is conceptually equivalent to quantum swapping. We consider the partial teleportation of entanglement in the noisy environment, emp loying the Werner-state representation of the noisy channel for the simplicity of calculation. To have the insight of the many-body teleportation, we introduce the measure of correlation information and study the transfer of the correlation information and entanglement. We find that the fidelity gets smaller as the initial-state is entangled more for a given entanglement of the quantum channel. The entangled channel transfers at least some of the entanglement to the final state.
We study electron scattering from a closed magnetic structure embedded in the top surface of a topological insulator (TI). Outside the structure there is a uniform layer of ferromagnetic insulator (FMI), leading to a positive effective mass for the D irac electrons. The mass inside can be engineered to be negative, leading to a skyrmion structure. The geometric shape of the structure can be circular or deformed, leading to integrable or chaotic dynamics, respectively, in the classical limit. For a circular structure, the relativistic quantum scattering characteristics can be calculated analytically. For a deformed structure, we develop an efficient numerical method, the multiple multipole method, to solve the scattering wavefunctions. We find that anomalous Hall effect as characterized by strong skew scattering can arise, which is robust against structural deformation due to the resonant modes. In the short (long) wavelength regime, the resonant modes manifest themselves as confined vortices (excited edge states). The origin of the resonant states is the spin phase factor of massive Dirac electrons at the skyrmion boundary. Further, in the short wavelength regime, for a circular skyrmion, a large number of angular momentum channels contribute to the resonant modes. In this regime, in principle, classical dynamics are relevant, but we find that geometric deformations, even those as severe as leading to fully developed chaos, have little effect on the resonant modes. The vortex structure of the resonant states makes it possible to electrically ``charge the skyrmion, rendering feasible to manipulate its motion electrically. In the long wavelength regime, only the lowest angular momentum channels contribute to the resonant modes, making the skew scattering sharply directional. These phenomena may find applications for information storage and in Hall devices based on dynamic skyrmion.
We investigate the dynamics of the spaser-based nanolaser in the strong incoherent pumping regime in the quantum limit when the photon number is the order of unity. We consider the situation where the newly irradiated photon finds itself in the cloud of earlier irradiated photons that are not thermalized. As the result the entanglement of nanoparticle with quantum dot degrees of freedom in the nanolaser and the lasing intensity increases several times. In fact the nonthermal bath effectively makes the nanolaser more quantum and master equation for the nanolaser density matrix nonlinear and selfconsistent.
We study the unconventional topological phases of polaritons inside a cavity waveguide, demonstrating how strong light-matter coupling leads to a breakdown of the bulk-edge correspondence. Namely, we observe an ostensibly topologically nontrivial pha se, which unexpectedly does not exhibit edge states. Our findings are in direct contrast to topological tight-binding models with electrons, such as the celebrated Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) model. We present a theory of collective polaritonic excitations in a dimerized chain of oscillating dipoles embedded inside a photonic cavity. The added degree of freedom from the cavity photons upgrades the system from a typical SSH $mathrm{SU}(2)$ model into a largely unexplored $mathrm{SU}(3)$ model. Tuning the light-matter coupling strength by changing the cavity size reveals three critical points in parameter space: when the polariton band gap closes, when the Zak phase changes from being trivial to nontrivial, and when the edge state is lost. Remarkably, these three critical points do not coincide, and thus the Zak phase is no longer an indicator of the presence of edge states. Our discoveries demonstrate some remarkable properties of topological matter when strongly coupled to light, and could be important for the growing field of topological nanophotonics.
Over the past decade, exciton-polaritons in semiconductor microcavities have attracted a great deal of interest as a driven-dissipative quantum fluid. These systems offer themselves as a versatile platform for performing Hamiltonian simulations with light, as well as for experimentally realizing nontrivial out-of-equilibrium phase transitions. In addition, polaritons exhibit a sizeable mutual interaction strength that opens up a whole range of possibilities in the context of quantum state generation. While squeezed light emission from polaritons has been reported previously, the granular nature of polaritons has not been observed to date. The latter capability is particularly attractive for realizing strongly correlated many-body quantum states of light on scalable arrays of coupled cavities. Here we demonstrate that by optically confining polaritons to a very small effective mode volume, one can reach the weak blockade regime, in which the nonlinearity turns strong enough to become significant at the few particle level, and thus produce a non-negligible antibunching in the emitted photons statistics. Our results act as a door opener for accessing the newly emerging field of quantum polaritonics, and as a proof of principle that optically confined exciton-polaritons can be considered as a realistic, new strategy to generate single photons.
