The main purpose of this paper is to prove Hormanders $L^p$-$L^q$ boundedness of Fourier multipliers on commutative hypergroups. We carry out this objective by establishing Paley inequality and Hausdorff-Young-Paley inequality for commutative hypergr oups. We show the $L^p$-$L^q$ boundedness of the spectral multipliers for the generalised radial Laplacian by examining our results on Ch{e}bli-Trim`{e}che hypergroups. As a consequence, we obtain embedding theorems and time asymptotics for the $L^p$-$L^q$ norms of the heat kernel for generalised radial Laplacian. Finally, we present applications of the obtained results to study the well-posedness of nonlinear partial differential equations.

In this paper we study the $L^p$-$L^q$ boundedness of the Fourier multipliers in the setting where the underlying Fourier analysis is introduced with respect to the eigenfunctions of an anharmonic oscillator $A$. Using the notion of a global symbol t hat arises from this analysis, we extend a version of the Hausdorff-Young-Paley inequality that guarantees the $L^p$-$L^q$ boundedness of these operators for the range $1<p leq 2 leq q <infty$. The boundedness results for spectral multipliers acquired, yield as particular cases Sobolev embedding theorems and time asymptotics for the $L^p$-$L^q$ norms of the heat kernel associated with the anharmonic oscillator. Additionally, we consider functions $f(A)$ of the anharmonic oscillator on modulation spaces and prove that Linsku iis trace formula holds true even when $f(A)$ is simply a nuclear operator.
We present a new calculation of the $Dtopi$ and $D to K$ form factors from QCD light-cone sum rules. The $overline{MS}$ scheme for the $c$-quark mass is used and the input parameters are updated. The results are $f^+_{Dpi}(0)= 0.67^{+0.10}_{-0.07}$, $f^+_{DK}(0)=0.75^{+0.11}_{-0.08}$ and $f^+_{Dpi}(0)/f^+_{DK}(0)=0.88 pm 0.05$. Combining the calculated form factors with the latest CLEO data, we obtain $|V_{cd}|=0.225pm 0.005 pm 0.003 ^{+0.016}_{-0.012}$ and $|V_{cd}|/|V_{cs}|= 0.236pm 0.006pm 0.003pm 0.013$ where the first and second errors are of experimental origin and the third error is due to the estimated uncertainties of our calculation. We also evaluate the form factors $f^-_{Dpi}$ and $f^-_{DK}$ and predict the slope parameters at $q^2=0$. Furthermore, calculating the form factors from the sum rules at $q^2<0$, we fit them to various parameterizations. After analytic continuation, the shape of the $Dto pi,K $ form factors in the whole semileptonic region is reproduced, in a good agreement with experiment.
The $ u_{mu} to u_{tau}$ and $ u_{mu} to u_s$ solutions to the atmospheric neutrino problem are compared with SuperKamiokande data. The differences between these solutions due to matter effects in the Earth are calculated for the ratio of $mu$-like to $e$-like events and for up-down flux asymmetries. These quantities are chosen because they are relatively insensitive to theoretical uncertainties in the overall neutrino flux normalisation and detection cross-sections and efficiencies. A $chi^2$ analysis using these quantities is performed yielding $3sigma$ ranges which are approximately given by $(0.725 - 1.0, 4 times 10^{-4} - 2 times 10^{-2} eV^2)$ and $(0.74 - 1.0, 1 times 10^{-3} - 2 times 10^{-2} eV^2)$ for $(sin^2 2theta,Delta m^2)$ for the $ u_{mu} to u_{tau}$ and $ u_{mu} to u_s$ solutions, respectively. Values of $Delta m^2$ smaller than about $2 times 10^{-3}$ eV$^2$ are disfavoured for the $ u_{mu} to u_s$ solution, suggesting that future long baseline experiments should see a positive signal if this scenario is the correct one.

The authors use steepest descent ideas to obtain a priori $L^p$ estimates for solutions of Riemann-Hilbert Problems. Such estimates play a crucial role, in particular, in analyzing the long-time behavior of solutions of the perturbed nonlinear Schrodinger equation on the line.
