High-energy photon-proton interactions at the LHC offer interesting possibilities for the study of top properties. Using a fast simulation of a LHC-like detector, first results on the measurement of the |V_{tb}| matrix element using Wt photoproduction are presented. Anomalous photoproduction of single top due to Flavour-Changing Neutral Currents permits to improve the current limits on the coupling parameters, k_{tugamma} and k_{tcgamma} after only 1 fb^{-1}.

High-energy photon-proton interactions at the LHC offer interesting possibilities for the study of the electroweak sector up to TeV scale and searches for processes beyond the Standard Model. An analysis of the W associated single top photoproduction has been performed using the adapted MadGraph/MadEvent and CalcHEP programs interfaced to the Pythia generator and a fast detector simulation program. Event selection and suppression of main backgrounds have been studied. A comparable sensitivity to |V_{tb}| to those obtained using the standard single top production in pp collisions has been achieved already for 10 fb^{-1} of integrated luminosity. Photoproduction at the LHC provides also an attractive framework for observation of the anomalous production of single top due to Flavour-Changing Neutral Currents. The sensitivity to anomalous coupling parameters, k_{tugamma} and k_{tcgamma} is presented and indicates that stronger limits can be placed on anomalous couplings after 1 fb^{-1}.

Precision measurements of top-associated Higgs production are an important ingredient to unravel the $mathcal{CP}$ nature of the Higgs boson. In this work, we constraint the $mathcal{CP}$ nature of the top-Yukawa coupling taking into account all rele vant inclusive and differential Higgs boson measurements. Based upon this fit, we show that it is crucial to disentangle single- and di-top-associated Higgs production for tightening indirect constraints on a $mathcal{CP}$-odd top-Yukawa coupling in the future. In this context, we propose an analysis strategy for measuring $tH$ production at the HL-LHC without relying on assumptions about the Higgs $mathcal{CP}$ character.
We study methods of extracting new physics signals in final states with a top-quark pair plus large missing energy at the LHC. We consider two typical examples of such new physics: pair production of a fermionic top partner (a $T$ in Little Higgs mod els for example) and of a scalar top partner (a $tilde{t}$ in SUSY). With a commonly-adopted discrete symmetry under which non Standard Model particles are odd, the top partner is assumed to decay predominantly to a top quark plus a massive neutral stable particle $A^0$. We focus on the case in which one of the top quarks decays leptonically and the other decays hadronically, $pp to {tt} A^0A^0 X to bj_1j_2 bar bell^- bar u A^0A^0 X + c.c.$, where the $A^0$s escape detection. We identify a key parameter for the signal observation: the mass splitting between the top partner and the missing particle. We reconstruct a transverse mass for the lepton-missing transverse energy system to separate the real $W$ background from the signal and propose a definition for the reconstructed top quark mass that allows it to take unphysical values as an indication of new physics. We perform a scan over the two masses to map out the discovery reach at the LHC in this channel. We also comment on the possibility of distinguishing between scalar and fermionic top partners using collider signatures.
In this contribution, we study the inclusive and diffractive $eta_{c}$ photoproduction in $pp$ and $pPb$ ultra-peripheral collisions (UPCs) at the LHC Run 2 energies. The quarkonium production is studied using nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics ( NRQCD) formalism. We present predictions for rapidity and transverse momentum distributions for the $eta_c$ photoproduction and present our estimate for the total cross sections at the Run 2 energies.
Experimental prospects for studying high-energy photon-photon and photon-proton interactions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are discussed. Cross sections are calculated for many electroweak and beyond the Standard Model processes. Selection strategies based on photon interaction tagging techniques are studied. Assuming a typical LHC multipurpose detector, various signals and their irreducible backgrounds are presented after applying acceptance cuts. Prospects are discussed for the Higgs boson search, detection of supersymmetric particles and of anomalous quartic gauge couplings, as well as for the top quark physics.
