Transiting exoplanetary systems are surpassingly important among the planetary systems since they provide the widest spectrum of information for both the planet and the host star. If a transiting planet is on an eccentric orbit, the duration of transits T_D is sensitive to the orientation of the orbital ellipse relative to the line of sight. The precession of the orbit results in a systematic variation in both the duration of individual transit events and the observed period between successive transits, P_obs. The periastron of the ellipse slowly precesses due to general relativity and possibly the presence of other planets in the system. This secular precession can be detected through the long-term change in P_obs (transit timing variations, TTV) or in T_D (transit duration variations, TDV). We estimate the corresponding precession measurement precision for repeated future observations of the known eccentric transiting exoplanetary systems (XO-3b, HD 147506b, GJ 436b and HD 17156b) using existing or planned space-borne instruments. The TDV measurement improves the precession detection sensitivity by orders of magnitude over the TTV measurement. We find that TDV measurements over a ~4 year period can typically detect the precession rate to a precision well exceeding the level predicted by general relativity.

To date, more than 100 giant Jupiter-like planets have been discovered in Doppler surveys of solar-type stars. In this paper, we perform simulations to investigate three systems: GJ 876, HD 82943 and 55 Cnc. The former two systems both have a pair of planets in the 2:1 Mean Motion Resonance (MMR), while the inner two companions of the later is close to 3:1 MMR. By integrating hundreds of the planetary orbits of three systems for million years, we find that for GJ 876 and HD 82943, the critical argument $lambda_{1} - 2lambda_{2} + varpi_{1}$ and $lambda_{1} - 2lambda_{2} + varpi_{2}$ librate about $0^{circ}$ or $180^{circ}$, indicating 2:1 MMR can play an important role in stabilizing the motion of the planets so that they are protected from frequent close encounters. As for 55 Cnc, we further show the three resonant arguments for 3:1 MMR execute librations for millions of years respectively, which reveals the evidence of the resonance for this system. Additionally, we should emphasize another vital mechanism is the apsidal phase-locking between a couple of planets for a certain system. For GJ 876 and HD 82943, we discover the relative apsidal longitudes $varpi_{1} - varpi_{2}$ move about $0^{circ}$ or $180^{circ}$, respectively; but for 55 Cnc, we find that there exists an asymmetric apsidal libration between two inner planets. Finally, we made a brief discussion about the Habitable Zones in the exoplanetary systems.
Since very recently, we acquired knowledge on the existence of comets in extrasolar planetary systems. The formation of comets together with planets around host stars now seems evident. As stars are often born in clusters of interstellar clouds, the interaction between the systems will lead to the exchange of material at the edge of the clouds. Therefore, almost every planetary system should have leftover remnants as a result of planetary formation in form of comets at the edges of those systems. These Oort clouds around stars are often disturbed by different processes (e.g., galactic tides, passing stars, etc.), which consequently scatter bodies from the distant clouds into the system close to the host star. Regarding the Solar System, we observe this outcome in the form of cometary families. This knowledge supports the assumption of the existence of comets around other stars. In the present work, we study the orbital dynamics of hypothetical exocomets, based on detailed computer simulations, in three star-planet systems, which are: HD~10180, 47~UMa, and HD~141399. These systems host one or more Jupiter-like planets, which change the orbits of the incoming comets in characteristic ways.

In this paper, we review the various ways in which an infrared stellar interferometer can be used to perform direct detection of extrasolar planetary systems. We first review the techniques based on classical stellar interferometry, where (complex) v isibilities are measured, and then describe how higher dynamic ranges can be achieved with nulling interferometry. The application of nulling interferometry to the study of exozodiacal discs and extrasolar planets is then discussed and illustrated with a few examples.
The formation and dynamical history of hot Jupiters is currently debated, with wide stellar binaries having been suggested as a potential formation pathway. Additionally, contaminating light from both binary companions and unassociated stars can sign ificantly bias the results of planet characterisation studies, but can be corrected for if the properties of the contaminating star are known. We search for binary companions to known transiting exoplanet host stars, in order to determine the multiplicity properties of hot Jupiter host stars. We also characterise unassociated stars along the line of sight, allowing photometric and spectroscopic observations of the planetary system to be corrected for contaminating light. We analyse lucky imaging observations of 97 Southern hemisphere exoplanet host stars, using the Two Colour Instrument on the Danish 1.54m telescope. For each detected companion star, we determine flux ratios relative to the planet host star in two passbands, and measure the relative position of the companion. The probability of each companion being physically associated was determined using our two-colour photometry. A catalogue of close companion stars is presented, including flux ratios, position measurements, and estimated companion star temperature. For companions that are potential binary companions, we review archival and catalogue data for further evidence. For WASP-77AB and WASP-85AB, we combine our data with historical measurements to determine the binary orbits, showing them to be moderately eccentric and inclined to the line of sight and planetary orbital axis. Combining our survey with the similar Friends of Hot Jupiters survey, we conclude that known hot Jupiter host stars show a deficit of high mass stellar companions compared to the field star population; however, this may be a result of the biases in detection and target selection by ground-based surveys.
In an effort to measure the masses of planets discovered by the NASA {it K2} mission, we have conducted precise Doppler observations of five stars with transiting planets. We present the results of a joint analysis of these new data and previously pu blished Doppler data. The first star, an M dwarf known as K2-3 or EPIC~201367065, has three transiting planets (b, with radius $2.1~R_{oplus}$; c, $1.7~R_{oplus}$; and d, $1.5~R_{oplus}$). Our analysis leads to the mass constraints: $M_{b}=8.1^{+2.0}_{-1.9}~M_{oplus}$ and $M_{c}$ < $ 4.2~M_{oplus}$~(95%~conf.). The mass of planet d is poorly constrained because its orbital period is close to the stellar rotation period, making it difficult to disentangle the planetary signal from spurious Doppler shifts due to stellar activity. The second star, a G dwarf known as K2-19 or EPIC~201505350, has two planets (b, $7.7~R_{oplus}$; and c, $4.9~R_{oplus}$) in a 3:2 mean-motion resonance, as well as a shorter-period planet (d, $1.1~R_{oplus}$). We find $M_{b}$= $28.5^{+5.4}_{-5.0} ~M_{oplus}$, $M_{c}$= $25.6^{+7.1}_{-7.1} ~M_{oplus}$ and $M_{d}$ < $14.0~M_{oplus} $~(95%~conf.). The third star, a G dwarf known as K2-24 or EPIC~203771098, hosts two transiting planets (b, $5.7~R_{oplus}$; and c, $7.8~R_{oplus}$) with orbital periods in a nearly 2:1 ratio. We find $M_{b}$= $19.8^{+4.5}_{-4.4} ~M_{oplus}$ and $M_{c}$ = $26.0^{+5.8}_{-6.1}~M_{oplus}$.....
