A theoretical frame for two-photon photoemission is derived from the general theory of pump-probe photoemission, assuming that not only the probe but also the pump pulse is sufficiently weak. This allows us to use a perturbative approach to compute t he lesser Green function within the Keldysh formalism. Two-photon photoemission spectroscopy is a widely used analytical tool to study non-equilibrium phenomena in solid materials. Our theoretical approach aims at a material-specific, realistic and quantitative description of the time-dependent spectrum based on a picture of effectively independent electrons as described by the local-density approximation in band-structure theory. To this end we follow Pendrys one-step theory of the photoemission process as close as possible and heavily make use of concepts of multiple-scattering theory, such as the representation of the final state by a time-reversed low-energy electron diffraction state. The formalism is fully relativistic and allows for a quantitative calculation of the time-dependent photocurrent for moderately correlated systems like simple metals or more complex compounds like topological insulators. An application to the Ag(100) surface is discussed in detail.
When patients need to take medicine, particularly taking more than one kind of drug simultaneously, they should be alarmed that there possibly exists drug-drug interaction. Interaction between drugs may have a negative impact on patients or even caus e death. Generally, drugs that conflict with a specific drug (or label drug) are usually described in its drug label or package insert. Since more and more new drug products come into the market, it is difficult to collect such information by manual. We take part in the Drug-Drug Interaction (DDI) Extraction from Drug Labels challenge of Text Analysis Conference (TAC) 2018, choosing task1 and task2 to automatically extract DDI related mentions and DDI relations respectively. Instead of regarding task1 as named entity recognition (NER) task and regarding task2 as relation extraction (RE) task then solving it in a pipeline, we propose a two step joint model to detect DDI and its related mentions jointly. A sequence tagging system (CNN-GRU encoder-decoder) finds precipitants first and search its fine-grained Trigger and determine the DDI for each precipitant in the second step. Moreover, a rule based model is built to determine the sub-type for pharmacokinetic interation. Our system achieved best result in both task1 and task2. F-measure reaches 0.46 in task1 and 0.40 in task2.

We study the photon trident process, where an initial photon turns into an electron-positron pair and a final photon under a nonlinear interaction with a strong plane-wave background field. We show that this process is very similar to double Compton scattering, where an electron interacts with the background field and emits two photons. We also show how the one-step terms can be obtained by resumming the small- and large-$chi$ expansions. We consider a couple of different resummation methods, and also propose new resummations (involving Meijer-G functions) which have the correct type of expansions at both small and large $chi$. These new resummations require relatively few terms to give good precision.
We have used the variable stripe technique and pump-probe spectroscopy to investigate both gain and the dynamics of amplified spontaneous emission from CdSe quantum dot structures. We have found modal gain coefficients of 75 and 32 1/cm for asymmetri c and symmetric waveguide structures, respectively. Amplified spontaneous emission decay times of 150 and 300 ps and carrier capture times of 15 and 40 ps were measured for the structures with high and low material gains respectively. The difference in the capture times are related to the fact that for the symmetric waveguide, carriers diffuse into the active region from the uppermost ZnMgSSe cladding layer, yielding a longer rise time for the pump-probe signals for this sample.
The traditional worms such as Blaster, Code Red, Slammer and Sasser, are still infecting vulnerable machines on the internet. They will remain as significant threats due to their fast spreading nature on the internet. Various traditional worms attack pattern has been analyzed from various logs at different OSI layers such as victim logs, attacker logs and IDS alert log. These worms attack pattern can be abstracted to form worms attack model which describes the process of worms infection. For the purpose of this paper, only Blaster variants were used during the experiment. This paper proposes a multi-step worm attack model which can be extended into research areas in alert correlation and computer forensic investigation.
