We consider scale invariant theories of continuous mass fields, and show how interactions of these fields with the standard model can reproduce unparticle interactions. There is no fixed point or dimensional transmutation involved in this approach. W e generalize interactions of the standard model to multiple unparticles in this formalism and explicitly work out some examples, in particular we show that the product of two scalar unparticles behaves as a normalized scalar unparticle with dimension equal to the sum of the two composite unparticle dimensions. Extending the formalism to scale invariant interactions of continuous mass fields, we calculate three point function of unparticles.
In models with the fundamental gravity scale in the TeV range, early cosmology is quite different from the standard picture, because the universe must have arisen at a much lower temperature and the electroweak symmetry was probably never restored. I n this context, baryogenesis appears to be problematic: if the involved physics is essentially that of the Standard Model, ``conventional non-conserving baryon number processes are completely negligible at such low temperatures. In this paper we show that the observed matter-antimatter asymmetry of the universe may be generated by gravitational decay of TeV-mass particles: such objects can be out of equilibrium after inflation and, if their mass is of the same order of magnitude as the true quantum gravity scale, they can quickly decay through a black hole intermediate state, violating global symmetries, in particular, baryon number. In this context, we take advantage of the fact that the ``Sakharov conditions for baryogenesis can be more easily satisfied with a low fundamental scale of gravity.

We summarize our latest developments in perturbative treating the effective theories of strong interactions. We discuss the principles of constructing the mathematically correct expressions for the S-matrix elements at a given loop order and briefly review the renormalization procedure. This talk shall provide the philosophical basement as well as serve as an introduction for the material presented at this conference by A. Vereshagin and K. Semenov-Tian-Shansky.
The double-slit experiment has become a classic thought experiment, for its clarity in expressing the central puzzle of quantum mechanics -- wave-particle complementarity. Such wave-particle duality continues to be challenged and investigated in a br oad range of entities with electrons, neutrons, helium atoms, C$_{60}$ fullerenes, Bose-Einstein condensates and biological molecules. All existing experiments are performed with the scale larger than angstrom. In this article, we present a double-slit scenario at fermi scale with new entities -- coherent photon products in heavy-ion collisions. Virtual photons from the electromagnetic fields of relativistic heavy ions can fluctuate to quark-antiquark pairs, scatter off a target nucleus and emerge as vector mesons. The two colliding nuclei can take turns to act as targets, forming a double-slit interference pattern. Furthermore, the `which-way information can be partially solved by the violent strong interactions in the proposed scenario, which demonstrates a key concept of quantum mechanics -- complementary principle.
We assess the status of a wide class of WIMP dark matter (DM) models in light of the latest experimental results using the global fitting framework $textsf{GAMBIT}$. We perform a global analysis of effective field theory (EFT) operators describing th e interactions between a gauge-singlet Dirac fermion and the Standard Model quarks, the gluons and the photon. In this bottom-up approach, we simultaneously vary the coefficients of 14 such operators up to dimension 7, along with the DM mass, the scale of new physics and 8 nuisance parameters that reflect uncertainties in the local DM halo, nuclear form factors and the top quark mass. We include the renormalization group evolution of all operator coefficients and perform an automated matching to the non-relativistic EFT relevant for DM scattering. Our up-to-date likelihood functions include all relevant experimental constraints based on the latest data from $mathit{Planck}$, direct and indirect detection experiments, and the LHC, in particular a very recent ATLAS monojet search based on the full run 2 dataset. For light DM ($lesssim 100$ GeV), we find that it is impossible to satisfy all constraints simultaneously unless the particle under consideration constitutes only a DM sub-component and the scale of the new physics is so low that the EFT breaks down for the calculation of LHC constraints. At intermediate values of the new physics scale ($approx 1$ TeV), we find that our results are significantly influenced by several small excesses in the LHC data such that the best-fit parameter regions depend on the precise prescription that we adopt to ensure EFT validity. In addition to these interesting features, we find a large region of viable parameter space where the EFT is valid and the relic density can be reproduced, implying that WIMPs can still account for the DM of the universe while being consistent with the latest data.
