We report on the analysis of the data collected by Swift, INTEGRAL and RXTE of the Black Hole Candidate (BHC) 4U 1630-47 during 3 consecutive outbursts occurred in 2006, 2008 and 2010, respectively. We show that, although a similar spectral and tempo ral behaviour in the energy range between 2-10 keV, these 3 outbursts present pronounced differences above 20 keV. In fact, the 2010 outburst extends at high energies without any detectable cut-off until 150-200 keV, while the other two previous outbursts, occurred on 2006 and 2008, are not detected at all above 20 keV. Moreover, the 2008 outburst does not show any detectable hard state in its final phases and even during the 2010 outburst, the final hard state shows some peculiarities rarely observed in other BHC. We also investigate on the peculiar huge variation of 4U 1630-47 hydrogen column density (N$_{H}$) reported in the literature using the Swift/XRT data. In fact this instrument is one of the most suitable for this purpose thanks to its lower energy coverage.
4U 1630-472 is a recurrent X-ray transient classified as a black-hole candidate from its spectral and timing properties. One of the peculiarities of this source is the presence of regular outbursts with a recurrence period between 600 and 730 d that has been observed since the discovery of the source in 1969. We report on a comparative study on the spectral and timing behaviour of three consecutive outbursts occurred in 2006, 2008 and 2010. We analysed all the data collected by the INTErnational Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Laboratory (INTEGRAL) and the Rossi X-ray timing Explorer (RXTE) during these three years of activity. We show that, in spite of having a similar spectral and timing behaviour in the energy range between 3 and 30 keV, these three outbursts show pronounced differences above 30 keV. In fact, the 2010 outburst extends at high energies without any detectable cut-off until 150-200 keV, while the two previous outbursts that occurred in 2006 and 2008 are not detected at all above 30 keV. Thus, in spite of a very similar accretion disk evolution, these three outbursts exhibit totally different characteristics of the Compton electron corona, showing a softening in their evolution rarely observed before in a low mass X-ray binary hosting a black hole. We argue the possibility that the unknown perturbation that causes the outbursts to be equally spaced in time could be at the origin of this particular behaviour. Finally we describe several possible scenarios that could explain the regularity of the outbursts, identifying the most plausible, such as a third body orbiting around the binary system.
We present here the main characteristics of the BHC IGR J17091-3624 outbursts occurred several times since 1994. Since 2003, the source has been extensively observed by INTEGRAL and Swift. In particular, we report results on the last 2011 outburst th at showed a rare variability behaviour observed before only in the galactic BH GRS 1915+105 but at a different level of flux. Several hypotheses have been proposed in order to explain this particular behaviour. They are all discussed here, in the light of their apparent contradiction. Finally, based on all available informations, we attempt to give an overall view of this enigmatic source and we speculate on the evolutionary state of the binary system.

During the operational life of the Italian/Dutch X-ray satellite (1996-2002), BeppoSAX, its two Wide Field Cameras performed observations that covered the full sky at different epochs. Although the majority of analysis performed on BeppoSAX WFC data concentrated on the detection of transient sources, we have now applied the same techniques developed for the INTEGRAL/IBIS survey to produce the same work with the BeppoSAX WFC data. This work represents the first unbiased source list compilation produced from the overall WFC data set optimised for faint persistent sources detection. This approach recovers 182 more sources compared to the previous WFC catalogue reported in Verrecchia et al. (2007). The catalogue contains 404 sources detected between 3-17 keV, 10 of which are yet to be seen by the new generation of telescopes.

We report on a campaign of X-ray and soft gamma-ray observations of the black hole candidate H 1743-322 (also named IGR J17464-3213), performed with the RXTE, INTEGRAL and Swift satellites. The source was observed during a short outburst between 2008 October 03 and 2008 November 16. The evolution of the hardness-intensity diagram throughout the outburst is peculiar, in that it does not follow the canonical pattern through all the spectral states (the so called q-track pattern) seen during the outburst of black-hole transients. On the contrary, the source only makes a transition from the Hard State to the Hard-Intermediate State. After this transition, the source decreases in luminosity and its spectrum hardens again. This behaviour is confirmed both by spectral and timing analysis. This kind of outburst has been rarely observed before in a transient black hole candidate.
IGR J17091-3624 and IGR J17098-3628 are two X-ray transients discovered by INTEGRAL and classified as possible black hole candidates (BHCs). We present here the results obtained from the analysis of multi-wavelength data sets collected by different i nstruments from 2005 until the end of 2007 on both sources. IGR J17098-3628 has been regularly detected by INTEGRAL and RXTE over the entire period of the observational campaign; it was also observed with pointed observations by XMM and Swift/XRT in 2005 and 2006 and exhibited flux variations not linked with the change of any particular spectral features. IGR J17091-3624 was initially in quiescence (after a period of activity between 2003 April and 2004 April) and it was then detected again in outburst in the XRT field of view during a Swift observation of IGR J17098--3628 on 2007 July 9. The observations during quiescence provide an upper limit to the 0.2-10 keV luminosity, while the observations in outburst cover the transition from the hard to the soft state. Moreover, we obtain a refined X-ray position for IGR J17091-3624 from the Swift/XRT observations during the outburst in 2007. The new position is inconsistent with the previously proposed radio counterpart. We identify in VLA archive data a compact radio source consistent with the new X-ray position and propose it as the radio counterpart of the X-ray transient.
The INTEGRAL/IBIS survey was performed collecting all the GPS and GCDE data together with all the available public data . The second catalogue, published in 2006 by Bird et al., is dominated by detection of 113 X-ray binaries, with 38 being high-mass and 67 low-mass. In most systems the compact object is a neutron star, but the sample also contains 4 confirmed Black Holes and 6 LMXB black hole candidates (BHC). There are also, in additional, 6 tentative associations as BHCs based simply on spectral and timing properties. In the sample of 12 sources (BHC and tentatively associated BHC) there are 7 transient sources that went into outbursts during the INTEGRAL survey observations. We present here the monitoring of the time and spectral evolution of these 7 outbursts.
