We search for the decay $B_{s}^{0}rightarrowgammagamma$ and measure the branching fraction for $B_{s}^{0}rightarrowphigamma$ using 121.4~$textrm{fb}^{-1}$ of data collected at the $Upsilon(mathrm{5}S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB as ymmetric-energy $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider. The $B_{s}^{0}rightarrowphigamma$ branching fraction is measured to be $(3.6 pm 0.5 (mathrm{stat.}) pm 0.3 (mathrm{syst.}) pm 0.6 (f_{s})) times 10^{-5}$, where $f_{s}$ is the fraction of $B_{s}^{(*)}bar{B}_{s}^{(*)}$ in $bbar{b}$ events. Our result is in good agreement with the theoretical predictions as well as with a recent measurement from LHCb. We observe no statistically significant signal for the decay $B_{s}^{0}rightarrowgammagamma$ and set a $90%$ confidence-level upper limit on its branching fraction at $ 3.1 times 10^{-6}$. This constitutes a significant improvement over the previous result.
The mixed-valent multiferroic compound CaMn7O12 is studied for its magnetic and electric properties. The compound undergoes magnetic ordering below 90 K with a helimagnetic structure followed by a low temperature magnetic anomaly observed around 43 K . The present study shows that the magnetic anomaly at 43 K is associated with thermal hysteresis indicating first order nature of the transition. The compound also shows field-cooled magnetic memory and relaxation below 43 K, although no zero-field-cooled memory is present. Clear magnetic hysteresis loop is present in the magnetization versus field measurements signifying the presence of some ferromagnetic clusters in the system. We doped trivalent La at the cite of divalent Ca expecting to enhance the fraction of Mn$^{3+}$ ions. The La doped samples show reduced magnetization, although the temperatures associated with the magnetic anomalies remain almost unaltered. Interestingly, the spontaneous electrical polarization below 90 K increases drastically on La substitution. We propose that the ground state of the pure as well as the La doped compositions contain isolated superparamagnetic like clusters, which can give rise to metastability in the form of field-cooled memory and relaxation. The ground state is not certainly spin glass type as it is evident from the absence of zero-field-cooled memory and frequency shift in the ac suceptibility measurements.
We have determined the transparency of the nuclear medium to kaons from $A(e,e^{} K^{+})$ measurements on $^{12}$C, $^{63}$Cu, and $^{197}$Au targets. The measurements were performed at the Jefferson Laboratory and span a range in four-momentum-trans fer squared Q$^2$=1.1 -- 3.0 GeV$^2$. The nuclear transparency was defined as the ratio of measured kaon electroproduction cross sections with respect to deuterium, ($sigma^{A}/sigma^{D}$). We further extracted the atomic number ($A$) dependence of the transparency as parametrized by $T= (A/2)^{alpha-1}$ and, within a simple model assumption, the in-medium effective kaon-nucleon cross sections. The effective cross sections extracted from the electroproduction data are found to be smaller than the free cross sections determined from kaon-nucleon scattering experiments, and the parameter $alpha$ was found to be significantly larger than those obtained from kaon-nucleus scattering. We have included similar comparisons between pion- and proton-nucleon effective cross sections as determined from electron scattering experiments, and pion-nucleus and proton-nucleus scattering data.

We report a measurement of the differential cross section for the $gamma n to pi^- p$ process from the CLAS detector at Jefferson Lab in Hall B for photon energies between 1.0 and 3.5 GeV and pion center-of-mass (c.m.) angles ($theta_{c.m.}$) between 50$^circ$ and 115$^circ$. We confirm a previous indication of a broad enhancement around a c.m. energy ($sqrt{s}$) of 2.2 GeV at $theta_{c.m.}=90^circ$ in the scaled differential cross section, $s^7 {frac{dsigma}{dt}}$. Our data show the angular dependence of this enhancement as the scaling region is approached in the kinematic region from 70$^circ$ to 105$^circ$.
