Treatment of dentofacial deformities with jaw osteotomies has an effect on airway anatomy, therefore mandibular setback surgery has potential to diminish airway size. The aim of this study was evaluation the effect of mandibular setback surgery by bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy (BSSRO) on lower pharyngeal airway size in anteroposterior direction retrolingually and hyoid bone position.

The aim of this paper is to study the relation between muscles electrical activity and knee movement during walking for patient with patellafemoral pain by measurement both of electromyography (EMG) and changing of knee angle by electro-goniometer. T he start and end of the gait cycle were determined by foot sensors, A program was designed for signal processing of the data, Testes were carried out at Hamish hospital in Damascus. Subjects were divided into two groups: 46 normal subjects and 21 patient. Final results also showed that hamstring group activity and galf group activity decreases during stance phase because knee cancel it first flexion with increase in quadriceps femoris activity to keep extension of knee. In swing phase, it is noted that the decrease in knee flexion and it depends on the increase in quadriceps femoris activity in all the period of swing phase, but hamstring group activity increases to keep hip instability, that is, it responds to increase activity of quadriceps femoris with less knee flexion. The activity of subject muscles in the period of gait cycle is less than normal muscles.
Reconstruction of mandibular defects after trauma or tumor resection is one of the most challenging problems facing by maxillofacial surgeons. Few mandibular defects require not just a fixation of an implant, but the reconstruction of the entire ma ndible. The aim of this study was to design a mandibular prosthesis for a mandibular cancer patient and study its efficacy by stress–strain related mechanical property using finite element analysis (FEA).
Impacted mandibular third molar area has been a topic of interest for a long time, and one of the most investigated parameters for two reasons:1- the lower third molars are the second most frequently impacted teeth[1,2 ]. 2- the lack of space is cons idered to be the major cause of this.so the radiographic diagnosis for this area is an important issue for orthodontists because of it's important role in mandibular third molar eruption wich play an impact on lower arch crowding and stability of orthodontic treatment. Objective:to study the relationship between impacted mandibular third molar area morphology and mandibular length in adults with skeletal malocclusion in the sagittal plane and to investigate the effect of sex on this area in these subjects by using cephalometric radiographic.
Six water stations were chosen along the lower reach section of AlKebir ALShimaly river and some of it's tributaries, differing in their biotic and abiotic features. Water and animal samples were collected bimonthly during spring, summer & autumn a nd monthly during winter during the period 25/8/2013 – 26/8/2014. Seventeen species of freshwater molluscs were identified in all stations, fifteen belonging to Gastropoda (6 of Prosobranchia & 9 of Pulmonata) and 2 belonging to Bivalvia, one of it (Corbicula fluminea) was recorded for the first time in Syrian Arab Republic. We focused on in this study on the station ( Mafraq Quesmeen) that we studied it's chemical and physical properties of the water and we identified 11 mollusc species and the most frequency of it was Melanopsis praemorsa and it's frequency rate was 46.48% and it was the most constant in all continuous samples and it was 100%
