We construct new families of $mathcal{N}=(0,4)$ $mathrm{AdS}_3times S^2 times tilde S^2 times S^1$ backgrounds fibred over a 2d Riemann surface in Type IIB string theory. These solutions are obtained by extracting the near-horizon limit of D3-brane box configurations, consisting on D3-D5-NS5 branes ending on D5-NS5 background branes. We relate our families of solutions to previous $mathrm{AdS}_3times S^2 times text{CY}_2$ and $mathrm{AdS}_3times S^3 times S^2$ solutions to Type IIA recently constructed in the literature. We construct explicit 2d quiver CFTs associated to the D3-brane box configurations, and check that the central charges match the holographic result. We extend our solutions to include D7-branes, and show that a subclass of these solutions can be interpreted in terms of D3-D5-NS5 defect branes embedded in a 5d fixed point theory. This is explicitly realised by linking our solutions to a 6d domain wall that asymptotes locally the $mathrm{AdS}_6times S^2 times Sigma_2$ solution T-dual to the Brandhuber-Oz vacuum.

We consider genuine type IIB string theory (supersymmetric) brane intersections that preserve $(1+1)$D Lorentz symmetry. We provide the full supergravity solutions in their analytic form and discuss their physical properties. The Ansatz for the spacetime dependence of the different brane warp factors goes beyond the harmonic superposition principle. By studying the associated near-horizon geometry, we construct interesting classes of AdS$_3$ vacua in type IIB and highlight their relation to the existing classifications in the literature. Finally, we discuss their holographic properties.
We consider $mathcal{N}=(2,2)$ AdS$_3$/CFT$_2$ dualities proposed in the large central charge limit ($ctoinfty$) by Eberhardt. Here we propose the associated D1-D5 systems to be orbifolds of the standard $mathcal{N}=(4,4)$ systems, thereby elevating the dualities to the finite-$c$ level on the boundary and to the quantum level in the bulk. In particular, we show that our brane systems yield low-energy sigma models whose subleading central charges match earlier predictions from bulk one-loop supergravity computations. In the case involving the Enriques surface, the finite-$c$ sigma model has a non-trivial elliptic genus which we use to microscopically explain both the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy and the subleading logarithmic correction to it for the associated macroscopic black brane.
We give a classification of fully supersymmetric chiral ${cal N}=(8,0)$ AdS$_3$ vacua in general three-dimensional half-maximal gauged supergravities coupled to matter. These theories exhibit a wealth of supersymmetric vacua with background isometries given by the supergroups OSp$(8|2,mathbb{R})$, F(4), SU$(4|1,1)$, and OSp$(4^*|4)$, respectively. We identify the associated embedding tensors and the structure of the associated gauge groups. We furthermore compute the mass spectra around these vacua. As an off-spin we include results for a number of ${cal N}=(7,0)$ vacua with supergroups OSp$(7|2,mathbb{R})$ and G$(3)$, respectively. We also comment on their possible higher-dimensional uplifts.
This is a long-overdue companion paper to arXiv:1512.00073. We study the relation between $sl(3|2)$ Chern-Simons supergravity on AdS$_3$ and two-dimensional CFTs with $mathcal{N}=2$ super-$mathcal{W}_3$ symmetry. Specifically, we carry out a complete analysis of asymptotic symmetries in a basis that makes the superconformal structure transparent, allowing us to establish the precise dictionary between currents and transformation parameters in the bulk and their boundary counterparts. We also discuss the incorporation of sources and display in full detail the corresponding holographic Ward identities. By imposing suitable hermiticity conditions on the CFT currents, we identify the superalgebra $su(2,1|1,1)$ as the appropriate real form of $sl(3|2)$ in Lorentzian signature. We take the opportunity to review some of the properties of the $mathcal{N}=2$ super-$mathcal{W}_3$ conformal algebra, including its multiplet structure, OPEs and spectral flow invariance, correcting some minor typos present in the literature.
We generalise the work of 1810.11442 for the case of AdS$_7$/CFT$_6$. Starting from the 2-equivalent charge, 3-equivalent rotation non-extremal black-hole solution in 7D gauged supergravity, we consider the supersymmetric and then the extremal limit and evaluate the associated thermodynamic quantities. Away from extremality, the black-hole solution becomes complex. The entropy is then given by the Legendre transform of the on-shell action with respect to two complex chemical potentials subject to a constraint. At the conformal boundary we derive the dual background and evaluate the corresponding partition function for the $A_{N-1}$ 6D (2,0) theory at large $N$ in a Cardy-like limit. This is carried out via a 5D $mathcal N=2$ super Yang-Mills calculation on $S^5$. The gravitational on-shell action is found to be exactly reproduced by the boundary partition function at large $N$. We argue that this agreement puts strong constraints on the form of possible higher-derivative corrections to the 5D gauge theory that is used in the $S^5$ evaluation.
