Effect of non-canonical scalar fields on the CMB imprints of the anisotropic inflation will be discussed in details in this paper. In particular, we are able to obtain the general formalism of the angular power spectra in the scalar perturbations, tensor perturbations, cross-correlations, and linear polarization in the context of the anisotropic inflation model involving non-canonical scalar fields. Furthermore, some significant numerical spectra will be plotted using the most recent data of Planck as well as the BICEP2 and Keck array. As a result, we find a very interesting point that the $TT$ spectra induced by the tensor perturbations as well as by the linear polarization will increase when the speed of sound decreases.
We study the intermediate inflation in a non-canonical scalar field framework with a power-like Lagrangian. We show that in contrast with the standard canonical intermediate inflation, our non-canonical model is compatible with the observational results of Planck 2015. Also, we estimate the equilateral non-Gaussianity parameter which is in well agreement with the prediction of Planck 2015. Then, we obtain an approximation for the energy scale at the initial time of inflation and show that it can be of order of the Planck energy scale, i.e. ${M_P} sim {10^{18}},{rm{GeV}}$. We will see that after a short period of time, inflation enters in the slow-roll regime that its energy scale is of order ${M_P}/100 sim ;{10^{16}}{rm{GeV}}$ and the horizon exit takes place in this energy scale. We also examine an idea in our non-canonical model to overcome the central drawback of intermediate inflation which is the fact that inflation never ends. We solve this problem without disturbing significantly the nature of the intermediate inflation until the time of horizon exit.
We study the cosmology in the presence of arbitrary couplings between $p$-forms in 4-dimensional space-time for a general action respecting gauge symmetry and parity invariance. The interaction between 0-form (scalar field $phi$) and 3-form fields gives rise to an effective potential $V_{rm eff}(phi)$ for the former after integrating out the contribution of the latter. We explore the dynamics of inflation on an anisotropic cosmological background for a coupled system of 0-, 1-, and 2-forms. In the absence of interactions between 1- and 2-forms, we derive conditions under which the anisotropic shear endowed with nearly constant energy densities of 1- and 2-forms survives during slow-roll inflation for an arbitrary scalar potential $V_{rm eff}(phi)$. If 1- and 2-forms are coupled to each other, we show the existence of a new class of anisotropic inflationary solutions in which the energy density of 2-form is sustained by that of 1-form through their interactions. Our general analytic formulas for the anisotropic shear are also confirmed by the numerical analysis for a concrete inflaton potential.
Assuming that a scalar field controls the inflationary era, we examine the combined effects of string and $f(R)$ gravity corrections on the inflationary dynamics of canonical scalar field inflation, imposing the constraint that the speed of the primordial gravitational waves is equal to that of lights. Particularly, we study the inflationary dynamics of an Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity in the presence of $alpha R^2$ corrections, where $alpha$ is a free coupling parameter. As it was the case in the pure Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity, the realization that the gravitational waves propagate through spacetime with the velocity of light, imposes the constraint that the Gauss-Bonnet coupling function $xi(phi)$ obeys the differential equation $ddotxi=Hdotxi$, where $H$ is the Hubble rate. Subsequently, a relation for the time derivative of the scalar field is extracted which implies that the scalar functions of the model, which are the Gauss-Bonnet coupling and the scalar potential, are interconnected and simply designating one of them specifies the other immediately. In this framework, it is useful to freely designate $xi(phi)$ and extract the corresponding scalar potential from the equations of motion but the opposite is still feasible. We demonstrate that the model can produce a viable inflationary phenomenology and for a wide range of the free parameters. Also, a mentionable issue is that when the coupling parameter $alpha$ of the $R^2$ correction term is $alpha<10^{-3}$ in Planck Units, the $R^2$ term is practically negligible and one obtains the same equations of motion as in the pure Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet theory, however the dynamics still change, since now the time derivative of $frac{partial f}{partial R}$ is nonzero.
In the framework of effective field theories with prominent helicity-0 and helicity-1 fields coupled to each other via a dimension-3 operator, we study the dynamics of inflation driven by the helicity-0 mode, with a given potential energy, as well as the evolution of cosmological perturbations, influenced by the presence of a mixing term between both helicities. In this scenario, the temporal component of the helicity-1 mode is an auxiliary field and can be integrated out in terms of the time derivative of the helicity-0 mode, so that the background dynamics effectively reduces to that in single-field inflation modulated by a parameter $beta$ associated to the coupling between helicity-0 and helicity-1 modes. We discuss the evolution of a longitudinal scalar perturbation $psi$ and an inflaton fluctuation $delta phi$, and explicitly show that a particular combination of these two, which corresponds to an isocurvature mode, is subject to exponential suppression by the vector mass comparable to the Hubble expansion rate during inflation. Furthermore, we find that the effective single-field description corrected by $beta$ also holds for the power spectrum of curvature perturbations generated during inflation. We compute the standard inflationary observables such as the scalar spectral index $n_s$ and the tensor-to-scalar ratio $r$ and confront several inflaton potentials with the recent observational data provided by Planck 2018. Our results show that the coupling between helicity-0 and helicity-1 modes can lead to a smaller value of the tensor-to-scalar ratio especially for small-field inflationary models, so our scenario exhibits even better compatibility with the current observational data.
In this paper, we study a non-canonical extension of a supergravity-motivated model acting as a vivid counterexample to the cosmic no-hair conjecture due to its unusual coupling between scalar and electromagnetic fields. In particular, a canonical scalar field is replaced by the string-inspired Dirac-Born-Infeld one in this extension. As a result, exact anisotropic inflationary solutions for this Dirac-Born-Infeld model are figured out under a constant-roll condition. Furthermore, numerical calculations are performed to verify that these anisotropic constant-roll solutions are indeed attractive during their inflationary phase.
