We study the thermodynamics of AdS-Schwarzschild black hole in the presence of an external string cloud. We observe that, at any temperature, the black hole configuration is stable with non-zero entropy. We further notice that, when the value of the curvature constant equals to one, if the string cloud density has less than a critical value, within a certain range of temperature three black holes configuration exist. One of these black holes is unstable and other two are stable. At a critical temperature, a transition between these two stable black holes takes place which leads us to conclude that the bound state of quark and anti-quark pairs may not exist. By studying the corresponding dual gauge theory we confirm that the instability of the bound state of quark and anti-quark pair in the dual gauge theory.

The strongly coupled dynamics of black hole formation in bulk AdS is conjectured to be dual to the thermalization of a weakly interacting CFT on the boundary for low $N$ which, for $Ntoinfty$, becomes strongly coupled. We search for this thermalization effect by utilizing the D1D5 CFT to compute effective string interactions for $N=2$. This is done by turning on a marginal deformation of the theory which twists together or untwists effective strings. For a system to thermalize, the initial state, which is far from thermal, must redistribute its energy via interactions until a thermal state is achieved. In our case, we consider excited states of the effective strings. We compute splitting amplitudes for 1) one excitation going to three excitations and 2) two excitations going to four excitations using two insertions of the deformation. Scenario 1) corresponds to a single particle moving in AdS. Scenario 2) corresponds to two particles moving and colliding in AdS. We find that the `1 to 3 amplitude has terms which oscillate with time, $t$, where $t$ is the duration of the two deformations. We find that the `2 to 4 amplitude has similar oscillatory terms as well as secular terms which grow like $t^2$. For this case the growth implies that for large $t$ the excitations in the initial state, which carry a given energy, prefer to redistribute themselves amongst lower energy modes in the final state. This is a key feature of thermalization. Albeit in a simplified setting, we therefore argue that we have identified the thermalization vertex in the D1D5 CFT, which after repeated applications, should lead to thermalization. This ultimately maps to two particles colliding and forming a black hole in AdS, which in our case, is a fuzzball.
By considering the fifth order term of the interaction potential in massive gravity theory, we study the $P-V$ critical behaviors of AdS black hole in $d geq 7$ dimensional space-time, and find the tricritical point and the solid/liquid/gas phase transition in addition to the Van der Waals-like phase and the reentrant phase transition of the system. The critical phenomena of black holes depend crucially on the number $n$ of interaction potential terms.
We consider the eikonal phase associated with the gravitational scattering of a highly energetic light particle off a very heavy object in AdS spacetime. A simple expression for this phase follows from the WKB approximation to the scattering amplitude and has been computed to all orders in the ratio of the impact parameter to the Schwarzschild radius of the heavy particle. The eikonal phase is related to the deflection angle by the usual stationary phase relation. We consider the flat space limit and observe that for sufficiently small impact parameters (or angular momenta) the eikonal phase develops a large imaginary part; the inelastic cross-section is exactly the classical absorption cross-section of the black hole. We also consider a double scaling limit where the momentum becomes null simultaneously with the asymptotically AdS black hole becoming very large. In the dual CFT this limit retains contributions from all leading twist multi stress tensor operators, which are universal with respect to the addition of higher derivative terms to the gravitational lagrangian. We compute the eikonal phase and the associated Lyapunov exponent in the double scaling limit.
As is well known that RN-AdS black hole has a phase transition which is similar to that of van der Waals system. The phase transition depends on the electric potential of the black hole and is not the one between a large black hole and a small black hole. On this basis, we introduce a new order parameter and use the Landau continuous phase transition theory to discuss the critical phenomenon of RN-AdS black hole and give the critical exponent. By constructing the binary fluid model of black hole molecules, we investigate the microstructure of black holes. Furthermore, by studying the effect of the spacetime scalar curvature on the phase transition, we find that the charged and uncharged molecules of black holes are with different microstructure red which is like fermion gas and boson gas.
We provide the metric, the gravitino fields and the gauge fields to all orders in the fermionic zero modes for D=5 and D=4, N=2 gauged supergravity solutions starting from non-extremal AdS--Schwarzschild black holes. We compute the Brown-York stress--energy tensor on the boundary of AdS_5 / AdS_4 spaces and we discuss some implications of the fermionic corrections to perfect fluid interpretation of the boundary theory. The complete non-linear solution, which we denote as fermionic wig, is achieved by acting with supersymmetry transformations upon the supergravity fields and that expansion naturally truncates at some order in the fermionic zero modes.
