We perform the asymptotic analysis of parabolic equations with stiff transport terms. This kind of problem occurs, for example, in collisional gyrokinetic theory for tokamak plasmas, where the velocity diffusion of the collision mechanism is dominated by the velocity advection along the Laplace force corresponding to a strong magnetic field. This work appeal to the filtering techniques. Removing the fast oscillations associated to the singular transport operator, leads to a stable family of profiles. The limit profile comes by averaging with respect to the fast time variable, and still satisfies a parabolic model, whose diffusion matrix is completely characterized in terms of the original diffusion matrix and the stiff transport operator. Introducing first order correctors allows us to obtain strong convergence results, for general initial conditions (not necessarily well prepared).

We consider the Cauchy problem for plate equations with rotational inertia and frictional damping terms. We will derive asymptotic profiles of the solution in L^2-sense as time goes to infinity in the case when the initial data have high and low regularity, respectively. Especially, in the low regularity case of the initial data one encounters the regularity-loss structure of the solutions, and the analysis is more delicate. We employ the so-called Fourier splitting method combined with the explicit expression of the solutions (high frequency estimates) and the method due to Ikehata (low frequency estimates).
In this paper we characterize viscosity solutions to nonlinear parabolic equations (including parabolic Monge-Amp`ere equations) by asymptotic mean value formulas. Our asymptotic mean value formulas can be interpreted from a probabilistic point of view in terms of Dynamic Programming Principles for certain two-player, zero-sum games.
In this paper we study the asymptotic behavior of solutions to systems of strongly coupled integral equations with oscillatory coefficients. The system of equations is motivated by a peridynamic model of the deformation of heterogeneous media that additionally accounts for short-range forces. We consider the vanishing nonlocality limit on the same length scale as the heterogeneity and show that the systems effective behavior is characterized by a coupled system of local equations that are elliptic in the sense of Legendre-Hadamard. This effective system is characterized by a fourth-order tensor that shares properties with Cauchy elasticity tensors that appear in the classical equilibrium equations for linearized elasticity.

In the region between two closely located stiff inclusions, the stress, which is the gradient of a solution to the Lam{e} system with partially infinite coefficients, may become arbitrarily large as the distance between interfacial boundaries of inclusions tends to zero. The primary aim of this paper is to give a sharp description in terms of the asymptotic behavior of the stress concentration, as the distance between interfacial boundaries of inclusions goes to zero. For that purpose we capture all the blow-up factor matrices, whose elements comprise of some certain integrals of the solutions to the case when two inclusions are touching. Then we are able to establish the asymptotic formulas of the stress concentration in the presence of two close-to-touching $m$-convex inclusions in all dimensions. Furthermore, an example of curvilinear squares with rounded-off angles is also presented for future application in numerical computations and simulations.

We construct fundamental solutions of second-order parabolic systems of divergence form with bounded and measurable leading coefficients and divergence free first-order coefficients in the class of $BMO^{-1}_x$, under the assumption that weak solutions of the system satisfy a certain local boundedness estimate. We also establish Gaussian upper bound for such fundamental solutions under the same conditions.
