We investigate theoretically the features of the Majorana hallmark in the presence of Coulomb repulsion between two quantum dots describing a spinless Aharonov-Bohm-like interferometer, where one of the dots is strongly coupled to a Kitaev wire within the topological phase. Such a system has been originally proposed without Coulomb interaction in J. of Appl. Phys. 116, 173701 (2014). Our findings reveal that for dots in resonance, the ratio between the strength of Coulomb repulsion and the dot-wire coupling changes the width of the Majorana zero-bias peak for both Fano regimes studied, indicating thus that the electronic interdots correlation influences the Majorana state lifetime in the dot hybridized with the wire. Moreover, for the off-resonance case, the swap between the energy levels of the dots also modifies the width of the Majorana peak, which does not happen for the noninteracting case. The results obtained here can guide experimentalists that pursuit a way of revealing Majorana signatures.

We develop the theory of electronic Mach-Zehnder interferometers built from quantum Hall edge states at Landau level filling factor u = 2, which have been investigated in a series of recent experiments and theoretical studies. We show that a detailed treatment of dephasing and non-equlibrium transport is made possible by using bosonization combined with refermionization to study a model in which interactions between electrons are short-range. In particular, this approach allows a non-perturbative treatment of electron tunneling at the quantum point contacts that act as beam-splitters. We find an exact analytic expression at arbitrary tunneling strength for the differential conductance of an interferometer with arms of equal length, and obtain numerically exact results for an interferometer with unequal arms. We compare these results with previous perturbative and approximate ones, and with observations.
While the breakdown of the perturbation expansion for the many-electron problem has several formal consequences, here we unveil its physical effect: Flipping the sign of the effective electronic interaction in specific scattering channels. By decomposing local and uniform susceptibilities of the Hubbard model via their spectral representations, we prove how entering the non-perturbative regime causes an enhancement of the charge response, ultimately responsible for the phase-separation instabilities close to the Mott MIT. Our analysis opens a new route for understanding phase-transitions in the non-perturbative regime and clarifies why attractive effects emerging from a strong repulsion can induce phase-separations, but not s-wave pairing or charge-density wave instabilities.
Over-screened Kondo effect is feasible in carbon nanotube quantum dot junction hosting a spin $tfrac{1}{2}$ atom with single $s$-wave valence electron (e.g Au). The idea is to use the two valleys as two symmetry protected flavor quantum numbers $xi={bf K}, {bf K}$. Perturbative RG analysis exposes the finite weak-coupling two-channel fixed point, where the Kondo temperature is estimated to be around $0.5div5$~K. Remarkably, occurrence of two different scaling regimes implies a non-monotonic dependence of the conductance as function of temperature.

Based on numerical renormalization group calculations, we demonstrate that experimentally realized double quantum dots constitute a minimal thermoelectric generator. In the Kondo regime, one quantum dot acts as an n-type and the other one as a p-type thermoelectric device. Properly connected the double quantum dot provides a miniature power supply utilizing the thermal energy of the environment.
We experimentally study negative fluctuations of stochastic entropy production in an electronic double dot operating in nonequilibrium steady-state conditions. We record millions of random electron tunneling events at different bias points, thus collecting extensive statistics. We show that for all bias voltages the experimental average values of the minima of stochastic entropy production lie above $-k_B$, where $k_B$ is the Boltzmann constant, in agreement with recent theoretical predictions for nonequilibrium steady states. Furthermore, we also demonstrate that the experimental cumulative distribution of the entropy production minima is bounded, at all times and for all bias voltages, by a universal expression predicted by the theory. We also extend our theory by deriving a general bound for the average value of the maximum heat absorbed by a mesoscopic system from the environment and compare this result with experimental data. Finally, we show by numerical simulations that these results are not necessarily valid under non-stationary conditions.
