We give some a priori estimates of type sup*inf for Yamabe and prescribed scalar curvature type equations on Riemannian manifolds of dimension >2. The product sup*inf is caracteristic of those equations, like the usual Harnack inequalities for non negative harmonic functions. First, we have a lower bound for sup*inf for some classes of PDE on compact manifolds (like prescribed scalar cuvature). We also have an upper bound for the same product but on any Riemannian manifold not necessarily compact. An application of those result is an uniqueness solution for some PDE.
Via Carleman estimates we prove uniqueness and continuous dependence results for lateral Cauchy problems for linear integro-differential parabolic equations without initial conditions. The additional information supplied prescribes the conormal derivative of the temperature on a relatively open subset of the lateral boundary of the space-time domain.
For a class of divergence type quasi-linear degenerate parabolic equations with a Radon measure on the right hand side we derive pointwise estimates for solutions via nonlinear Wolff potentials.
We prove a Harnack inequality for positive solutions of a parabolic equation with slow anisotropic spatial diffusion. After identifying its natural scalings, we reduce the problem to a Fokker-Planck equation and construct a self-similar Barenblatt solution. We exploit translation invariance to obtain positivity near the origin via a self-iteration method and deduce a sharp anisotropic expansion of positivity. This eventually yields a scale invariant Harnack inequality in an anisotropic geometry dictated by the speed of the diffusion coefficients. As a corollary, we infer Holder continuity, an elliptic Harnack inequality and a Liouville theorem.
For a general class of divergence type quasi-linear degenerate parabolic equations with measurable coeffcients and lower order terms from non-linear Kato-type classes, we prove local boundedness and continuity of solutions, and the intrinsic Harnack inequality for positive solutions.
