We generalize the notion of Zermelo navigation to arbitrary pseudo-Finsler metrics possibly defined in conic subsets. The translation of a pseudo-Finsler metric $F$ is a new pseudo-Finsler metric whose indicatrix is the translation of the indicatrix of $F$ by a vector field $W$ at each point, where $W$ is an arbitrary vector field. Then we show that the Matsumoto tensor of a pseudo-Finsler metric is equal to zero if and only if it is the translation of a semi-Riemannian metric, and when $W$ is homothetic, the flag curvature of the translation coincides with the one of the original one up to the addition of a non-positive constant. In this case, we also give a description of the geodesic flow of the translation.

We prove that a Finsler metric is nonpositively curved in the sense of Busemann if and only if it is affinely equivalent to a Riemannian metric of nonpositive sectional curvature. In other terms, such Finsler metrics are precisely Berwald metrics of nonpositive flag curvature. In particular in dimension 2 every such metric is Riemannian or locally isometric to that of a normed plane. In the course of the proof we obtain new characterizations of Berwald metrics in terms of the so-called linear parallel transport.
In this work, we consider a class of Finsler metrics using the warped product notion introduced by Chen, S. and Zhao (2018), with another warping, one that is consistent with static spacetimes. We will give the PDE characterization for the proposed metrics to be Ricci-flat and explicitly construct two non-Riemannian examples.
A systematic development of the so-called Palatini formalism is carried out for pseudo-Finsler metrics $L$ of any signature. Substituting in the classical Einstein-Hilbert-Palatini functional the scalar curvature by the Finslerian Ricci scalar constructed with an independent nonlinear connection $mathrm{N}$, the metric and affine equations for $(mathrm{N},L)$ are obtained. In Lorentzian signature with vanishing mean Landsberg tensor $mathrm{Lan}_i$, both the Finslerian Hilbert metric equation and the classical Palatini conclusions are recovered by means of a combination of techniques involving the (Riemannian) maximum principle and an original argument about divisibility and fiberwise analyticity. Some of these findings are also extended to (positive definite) Riemannian metrics by using the eigenvalues of the Laplacian. When $mathrm{Lan}_i eq 0$, the Palatini conclusions fail necessarily, however, a good number of properties of the solutions remain. The framework and proofs are built up in detail.
In this paper we have studied the class of Finsler metrics, called C3-like metrics which satisfy the un-normal and normal Ricci flow equation and proved that such metrics are Einstein.
In this paper, we prove that lightlike geodesics of a pseudo-Finsler manifold and its focal points are preserved up to reparametrization by anisotropic conformal changes, using the Chern connection and the anisotropic calculus and the fact that geodesics are critical points of the energy functional and Jacobi fields, the kernel of its index form. This result has applications to the study of Finsler spacetimes.
