We study the algebras of differential operators invariant with respect to the scalar slash actions of real Jacobi groups of arbitrary rank. These algebras are non-commutative and are generated by their elements of orders 2 and 3. We prove that their centers are polynomial in one variable and are generated by the Casimir operator. For slash actions with invertible indices we also compute the characters of the IDO algebras: in rank exceeding 1 there are two, and in rank 1 there are in general five. In rank 1 we compute in addition all irreducible admissible representations of the IDO algebras.
We present sum-sides for principal characters of all standard (i.e., integrable and highest-weight) irreducible modules for the affine Lie algebra $A_2^{(2)}$. We use modifications of five known Bailey pairs; three of these are sufficient to obtain all the necessary principal characters. We then use the technique of Bailey lattice appropriately extended to include out-of-bounds values of one of the parameters, namely, $i$. We demonstrate how the sum-sides break into six families depending on the level of the modules modulo 6, confirming a conjecture of McLaughlin--Sills.
The Lie algebra of vector fields on $R^m$ acts naturally on the spaces of differential operators between tensor field modules. Its projective subalgebra is isomorphic to $sl_{m+1}$, and its affine subalgebra is a maximal parabolic subalgebra of the projective subalgebra with Levi factor $gl_m$. We prove two results. First, we realize all injective objects of the parabolic category O$^{gl_m}(sl_{m+1})$ of $gl_m$-finite $sl_{m+1}$-modules as submodules of differential operator modules. Second, we study projective quantizations of differential operator modules, i.e., $sl_{m+1}$-invariant splittings of their order filtrations. In the case of modules of differential operators from a tensor density module to an arbitrary tensor field module, we determine when there exists a unique projective quantization, when there exists no projective quantization, and when there exist multiple projective quantizations.
We give an analog of Frobenius theorem about the factorization of the group determinant on the group algebra of finite abelian groups and we extend it into dihedral groups and generalized quaternion groups. Furthermore, we describe the group determinant of dihedral groups and generalized quaternion groups as a circulant determinant of homogeneous polynomials. This analog on the group algebra is stronger than Frobeniuss theorem and as a corollary, we obtain a simple expression formula for inverse elements in the group algebra. Furthermore, the commutators of irreducible factors of the factorization of the group determinant on the group algebra corresponding to degree one representations have interesting algebraic properties. From this result, we know that degree one representations form natural pairing. At the current stage, the extension of Frobeinus theorem is not represent as a determinant. We expect to find a determinant expression similar to Frobenius theorem.
Let $Gamma$ be a generic subgroup of the multiplicative group $mathbb{C}^*$ of nonzero complex numbers. We define a class of Lie algebras associated to $Gamma$, called twisted $Gamma$-Lie algebras, which is a natural generalization of the twisted affine Lie algebras. Starting from an arbitrary even sublattice $Q$ of $mathbb Z^N$ and an arbitrary finite order isometry of $mathbb Z^N$ preserving $Q$, we construct a family of twisted $Gamma$-vertex operators acting on generalized Fock spaces which afford irreducible representations for certain twisted $Gamma$-Lie algebras. As application, this recovers a number of known vertex operator realizations for infinite dimensional Lie algebras, such as twisted affine Lie algebras, extended affine Lie algebras of type $A$, trigonometric Lie algebras of series $A$ and $B$, unitary Lie algebras, and $BC$-graded Lie algebras.
We consider an analog of the problem Veblen formulated in 1928 at the IMC: classify invariant differential operators between natural objects (spaces of either tensor fields, or jets, in modern terms) over a real manifold of any dimension. For unary operators, the problem was solved by Rudakov (no nonscalar operators except the exterior differential); for binary ones, by Grozman (there are no operators of orders higher than 3, operators of order 2 and 3 are, bar an exception in dimension 1, compositions of order 1 operators which, up to dualization and permutation of arguments, form 8 families). In dimension one, Grozman discovered an indecomposable selfdual operator of order 3 that does not exist in higher dimensions. We solve Veblens problem in the 1-dimensional case over the ground field of positive characteristic. In addition to analogs of the Berezin integral (strangely overlooked so far) and binary operators constructed from them, we discovered two more (up to dualization) types of indecomposable operators of however high order: analogs of the Grozman operator and a completely new type of operators.
