We extend some previous attempts to explain the origin and evolution of primordial magnetic fields during inflation induced from a 5D vacuum. We show that the usual quantum fluctuations of a generalized 5D electromagnetic field cannot provide us with the desired magnetic seeds. We show that special fields without propagation on the extra non-compact dimension are needed to arrive to appreciable magnetic strengths. We also identify a new magnetic tensor field $B_{ij}$ in this kind of extra dimensional theories. Our results are in very good agreement with observational requirements, in particular from TeV Blazars and CMB radiation limits we obtain that primordial cosmological magnetic fields should be close scale invariance.

We propose an approach to induced gravity, or Sakharovs metrical elasticity, which requires only an affine spacetime that accommodates scalar fields. The setup provides the induction of metric gravity from a pure affine action, and it is established in two possible ways: (i) at the classical level, Einstein-Hilbert action arises with both, metric and Newtons constant, from the nonzero potential energy of the background field (ii) at the quantum level (quantized matter), gravity scale is induced from the one-loop effective action by integrating out the scalar degrees of freedom. In the former, the cosmological constant is absorbed leading to the gravitational sector, however, the fact remains that quantum corrections induce a large cosmological constant. This new approach adds a crucial feature to induced gravity which is the fact that the metric structure is not imposed from the scratch, but it is an outcome of the primary theory.
We study universal electromagnetic (test) fields, i.e., p-forms fields F that solve simultaneously (virtually) any generalized electrodynamics (containing arbitrary powers and derivatives of F in the field equations) in n spacetime dimensions. One of the main results is a sufficient condition: any null F that solves Maxwells equations in a Kundt spacetime of aligned Weyl and traceless-Ricci type III is universal (in particular thus providing examples of p-form Galileons on curved Kundt backgrounds). In addition, a few examples in Kundt spacetimes of Weyl type II are presented. Some necessary conditions are also obtained, which are particularly strong in the case n=4=2p: all the scalar invariants of a universal 2-form in four dimensions must be constant, and vanish in the special case of a null F .
We investigate, in the transverse traceless (TT) gauge, the generation of the relic background of gravitational waves, generated during an early inflationary stage, on the framework of a large-scale repulsive gravity model. We calculate the spectrum of the tensor metric fluctuations of an effective 4D Schwarzschild-de-Sitter metric, which is obtained after implementing a planar coordinate transformation on a 5D Ricci-flat metric solution, in the context of a non-compact Kaluza-Klein theory of gravity. We found that the spectrum is nearly scale invariant under certain conditions. One interesting aspect of this model is that is possible to derive dynamical field equations for the tensor metric fluctuations, valid not just at cosmological scales, but also at astrophysical scales, from the same theoretical model. The astrophysical and cosmological scales are determined by the gravity- antigravity radius, which is a natural length scale of the model, that indicates when gravity becomes repulsive in nature.
We explore the possibility of baryogenesis in the framework of quintessential inflation. We focus on the model independent features of the underlying paradigm and demonstrate that the required baryon asymmetry can successfully be generated in this scenario. To this effect, we use the effective field theory framework with desired terms in the Lagrangian necessary to mimic baryon number violation textit{`{a} la} spontaneous baryogenesis which can successfully evade Sakharovs requirement allowing us to generate the observed baryon asymmetry in the equilibrium process. Our estimates are independent of the underlying physical process responsible for baryon number violation. The underlying framework of quintessential inflation essentially includes the presence of kinetic regime after inflation which gives rise to blue spectrum of gravitational wave background at high frequencies. In addition to baryogenesis, we discuss the prospects of detection of relic gravitational wave background, in the future proposed missions, sticking to model independent treatment.
In this paper, we demonstrate that a phenomenon described as topological inflation during which inflation occurs inside the core of topological defects, has a non-topological counterpart. This appears in a simple set-up containing Einstein gravity coupled minimally to an electromagnetic field as well as a self-interacting, complex valued scalar field. The U(1) symmetry of the model is unbroken and leads to the existence of globally regular solutions, so-called boson stars, that develop a horizon for sufficiently strong gravitational coupling. We also find that the same phenomenon exists for black holes with scalar hair.
