We consider the structure of Josephson vortices approaching the junction boundary with vacuum in large area Josephson junctions with the Josephson length $lambda_J$ large relative to the London penetration depth $lambda_L$. Using the stability argument for one-dimentional solitons with respect to 2D perturbations, it is shown that on the scale $lambda_J$ the Josephson vortices do not spread near the boundary in the direction of the junction. %, which is in a striking difference with behavior of Abrikosov vortices exiting superconductors. The field distribution in vacuum due to the Josephson vortex is evaluated, the information needed for the Scanning SQUID Microscopy.

We discuss the unconventional magnetic response and vortex states arising in noncentrosymmetric superconductors with chiral octahedral and tetrahedral ($O$ or $T$) symmetry. We microscopically derive Ginzburg-Landau free energy. It is shown that due to spin-orbit and Zeeman coupling magnetic response of the system can change very significantly with temperature. For sufficiently strong coupling this leads to a crossover from type-1 superconductivity at elevated temperature to vortex states at lower temperature. The external magnetic field decay in such superconductors does not have the simple exponential law. We show that in the London limit, magnetic field can be solved in terms of complex force-free fields $vec{W}$, which are defined by $ abla times vec{W} = text{const} vec{W}$. Using that we demonstrate that the magnetic field of a vortex decays in spirals. Because of such behavior of the magnetic field, the intervortex and vortex-boundary interaction becomes non-monotonic with multiple minima. This implies that vortices form bound states with other vortices, antivortices, and boundaries.

We review and analyze magnetization and specific heat investigations on type-II superconductors which uncover remarkable evidence for the magnetic field induced fnite size effect and the associated 3D to 1D crossover which enhances thermal fluctuations.
Understanding superconductivity requires detailed knowledge of the normal electronic state from which it emerges. A nematic electronic state that breaks the rotational symmetry of the lattice can potentially promote unique scattering relevant for superconductivity. Here, we investigate the normal transport of superconducting FeSe$_{1-x}$S$_x$ across a nematic phase transition using high magnetic fields up to 69 T to establish the temperature and field-dependencies. We find that the nematic state is an anomalous non-Fermi liquid, dominated by a linear resistivity at low temperatures that can transform into a Fermi liquid, depending on the composition $x$ and the impurity level. Near the nematic end point, we find an extended temperature regime with $T^{1.5}$ resistivity. The transverse magnetoresistance inside the nematic phase has as a $H^{1.55}$ dependence over a large magnetic field range and it displays an unusual peak at low temperatures inside the nematic phase. Our study reveals anomalous transport inside the nematic phase, driven by the subtle interplay between the changes in the electronic structure of a multi-band system and the unusual scattering processes affected by large magnetic fields and disorder

We study long Josephson junctions with the critical current density alternating along the junction. New equilibrium states, which we call the field synchronized or FS states, are shown to exist if the applied field is from narrow intervals centered around equidistant series of resonant fields, $H_m$. The values of $H_m$ are much higher than the flux penetration field, $H_s$. The flux per period of the alternating critical current density, $phi_i$, is fixed for each of the FS states. In the $m$-th FS state the value of $phi_i$ is equal to an integer amount of flux quanta, $phi_i =mphi_0$. Two types of single Josephson vortices carrying fluxes $phi_0$ or/and $phi_0/2$ can exist in the FS states. Specific stepwise resonances in the current-voltage characteristics are caused by periodic motion of these vortices between the edges of the junction.
Inhomogeneous distribution of the pinning force in superconductor results in a magnetization asymmetry. A model considering the field distribution in superconductor was developed and symmetric and asymmetric magnetization loops of porous and textured Bi_{1.8}Pb_{0.3}Sr_{1.9}Ca_{2}Cu_{3}O_{x} were fitted. It is found that the thermal equilibrium magnetization realizes in crystals smaller than some size depending on temperature and magnetic field.
