This study aimed to evaluate the effect of associating the application
of Erbium-YAG laser with rapid palatal expansion in adult patients.
Twenty four subjects aged between 13 - 21 years were randomly
assigned to either laser group (n=12) and cont
rol - traditional
treatment with RPE- group (n=12). Laser group patients were
undergone mucosal-bony perforations along midpalatal suture for
three interventions (one a month) by Erbium-YAG laser, and two
bands hyrax expander were cemented for all patients of groups.
Impressions were taken for all patients and dental changes post
activation and retention phases were collected and compared for
both groups.
