The objective of the present study was to investigate, in a sub-sinus bone augmentation model in rabbits, effect of Three Calcium Phosphate beta at different stages of the osteogenesis process. Histological and statistical analyses were performed. Rabbits underwent sinus augmentation procedures using Three Calcium Phosphate beta (Cerasorb) and Collagen membrane ( Gen Derm ) .
The common problem that may encounter surgeons were the change of the volume of iliac bone grafts which used in atrophic region in the alveolar bone because of the resorption of this grafts during healing period. This study aimed to compare between block graft which taken by surgical bur (trephine)and grafts which collected by bone scraper ,in this way the bone graft look like small chips .This study included 10 patients who presented the oral and maxillofacial department in dentistry faculty in Damascus university between 2010-2012 A.D. the patients suffered from sever atrophy in upper and lower alveolar bone for different underlying causes and needed to compromise these atrophy to create a suitable area for dental implantation .The iliac bone grafts were turned into a real bone in the grafted area but the block grafts were saving their volumes more than the grafts collected by bone scraper. We used Mann-Whitney U and SPSS to evaluate the data that collected during the research and the results revealed that the block iliac bone graft which used to compromise the atrophic region would resorb less than the grafts which collected by bone scraper . But these grafts showed that it would be more exposed after surgery than the bone scraper grafts .
The floor of maxillary sinus starts to get down when the posterior upper teeth are extractedو which demand proceed sinus floor elevation when we plan to put dental implant in this place. The most common complication that happens in this procedure is membrane perforation which took place at range of 5,5- 56.16 %. So the method of sinus lifting with balloon has spread which is considered a safe and affective method and it is indicated especially when there is a small dental loss (1-2 teeth ). The principle of this method depends on pumping a liquid ( saline usually ) into the balloon which causes sinus floor elevating slowly and continuously. The research aims to evaluate bone thickness when sinus floor elevated with balloon when there are adjacent teeth and when there are not. The balloon technique of sinus floor lifting is applied on 30 sinus lifting cases in 27 patients who have more than 2 teeth dental loss in posterior superior area and need sinus lifting for dental implantation in this area. The patients were divided into two groups: the first one included 15 cases of sinus floor lifting with balloon and there are approximate teeth to the edentulous area. The second group included 15 cases of sinus floor lifting with balloon when there are no adjacent teeth. Patients had been followed up in 5 periods using dental cone beam radiography ( after the surgery, after 3 months, after 6 months, after 9 months, after 1 year ). The research showed in the two groups that At confidence level of R = 95 % there were no statistic variations of the range of success, when there are adjacent teeth to the edentulous area and when there are not. The research recommends using balloon technique of sinus floor lifting when there are adjacent teeth and when there are not .
Bone neoformation is primary importance for the success of maxillofacial surgical treatments. and there are various methods to reach this aim as the physical methods including the usage of electrical , electromagnetic & static magnetic field due to its effect on bone. Aim of study to investigate, the effect of a static magnetic field on the density of bone and osteoblast , without bone graft, With auto graft and With hidroxiapatite.
The need to repair dentoalveolar atrophy and bone defects has resulted in developing techniques and sources of graft materials، and the use of autogenous bone grafts continues to represent the ‘gold standard’ in reconstructive surgery of the oral a nd maxillofacial region. This study aims to assessment the complications of autogenous bone harvesting from retromolar region of mandible by trephine burs.
