Ottoman transcription phenomena are varied such as ellipsis,
addition, alternation, "Al-Hamz", displacement, and conjunction.
This research focuses on addition particularly the addition of the
Arabic letter "Al-Alef" in the Holy Quran transcriptio
n. My
research sheds light on the origins and regulations of "Al-Alef"
addition in a try to find answers for plenty of questions raised about
the rules for such addition. Hence, this research is certain to prove
that the regulations, implications, and benefits of this addition are
of major importance and cannot be ignored or passed by
superficially.
