Third trimester vaginal bleeding is still one of the most critical problems facing
both the pregnant woman and the doctor , and placenta previa is considered to
be the most common cause for this problem.
Our study involved the cases of patients wi
th placenta previa whom they
where admitted to Damascus University Maternity Hospital within five years
(1992-1997). There were 552 cases of placenta previa among 74959 deliveries
(about 7.36 per thousand ).
These cases were undertaken an analytic study.
