The so-called covariant Poincare lemma on the induced cohomology of the spacetime exterior derivative in the cohomology of the gauge part of the BRST differential is extended to cover the case of arbitrary, non reductive Lie algebras. As a consequence, the general solution of the Wess-Zumino consistency condition with a non trivial descent can, for arbitrary (super) Lie algebras, be computed in the small algebra of the 1 form potentials, the ghosts and their exterior derivatives. For particular Lie algebras that are the semidirect sum of a semisimple Lie subalgebra with an ideal, a theorem by Hochschild and Serre is used to characterize more precisely the cohomology of the gauge part of the BRST differential in the small algebra. In the case of an abelian ideal, this leads to a complete solution of the Wess-Zumino consistency condition in this space. As an application, the consistent deformations of 2+1 dimensional Chern-Simons theory based on iso(2,1) are rediscussed.

We study the lattice N=1 Wess-Zumino model in two dimensions and we construct a sequence $rho^{(L)}$ of exact lower bounds on its ground state energy density $rho$, converging to $rho$ in the limit $Ltoinfty$. The bounds $rho^{(L)}$ can be computed n umerically on a finite lattice with $L$ sites and can be exploited to discuss dynamical symmetry breaking. The transition point is determined and compared with recent results based on large-scale Green Function Monte Carlo simulations with good agreement.
We study dynamical supersymmetry breaking by non perturbative lattice techniques in a class of two-dimensional N=1 Wess-Zumino models. We work in the Hamiltonian formalism and analyze the phase diagram by analytical strong-coupling expansions and exp licit numerical simulations with Green Function Monte Carlo methods.

We construct characteristic identities for the split (polarized) Casimir operators of the simple Lie algebras in defining (minimal fundamental) and adjoint representations. By means of these characteristic identities, for all simple Lie algebras we d erive explicit formulae for invariant projectors onto irreducible subrepresentations in T^{otimes 2} in two cases, when T is the defining and the adjoint representation. In the case when T is the defining representation, these projectors and the split Casimir operator are used to explicitly write down invariant solutions of the Yang-Baxter equations. In the case when T is the adjoint representation, these projectors and characteristic identities are considered from the viewpoint of the universal description of the simple Lie algebras in terms of the Vogel parameters.

In this paper, first we introduce the notion of a Reynolds operator on an $n$-Lie algebra and illustrate the relationship between Reynolds operators and derivations on an $n$-Lie algebra. We give the cohomology theory of Reynolds operators on an $n$- Lie algebra and study infinitesimal deformations of Reynolds operators using the second cohomology group. Then we introduce the notion of NS-$n$-Lie algebras, which are generalizations of both $n$-Lie algebras and $n$-pre-Lie algebras. We show that an NS-$n$-Lie algebra gives rise to an $n$-Lie algebra together with a representation on itself. Reynolds operators and Nijenhuis operators on an $n$-Lie algebra naturally induce NS-$n$-Lie algebra structures. Finally, we construct Reynolds $(n+1)$-Lie algebras and Reynolds $3$-Lie algebras from Reynolds $n$-Lie algebras and Reynolds commutative associative algebras respectively.

We consider a lattice formulation of the four dimensional N=1 Wess-Zumino model in terms of the Ginsparg-Wilson relation. This formulation has an exact supersymmetry on the lattice. The lattice action is invariant under a deformed supersymmetric tran sformation which is non-linear in the scalar fields and it is determined by an iterative procedure in the coupling constant to all orders in perturbation theory. We also show that the corresponding Ward-Takahashi identity is satisfied at fixed lattice spacing. The calculation is performed in lattice perturbation theory up to order $g^3$ (two-loop) and the Ward-Takahashi identity (containing 110 connected non-tadpole Feynman diagrams) is satisfied at fixed lattice spacing thanks to this exact lattice supersymmetry.
