Using the BF version of pure Yang-Mills, it is possible to find a covariant representation of the t Hooft magnetic flux operator. In this framework, t Hoofts pioneering work on confinement finds an explicit realization in the continuum. Employing the Abelian projection gauge we compute the expectation value of the magnetic variable and find the expected perimeter law. We also check the area law behaviour for the Wilson loop average and compute the string tension which turns out to be of the right order of magnitude.
We relate quark confinement, as measured by the Polyakov-loop order parameter, to color confinement, as described by the Kugo-Ojima/Gribov-Zwanziger scenario. We identify a simple criterion for quark confinement based on the IR behaviour of ghost and
The infrared behavior of the quark-gluon vertex of quenched Landau gauge QCD is studied by analyzing its Dyson-Schwinger equation. Building on previously obtained results for Green functions in the Yang-Mills sector we analytically derive the existen
We study the relation between quark confinement and chiral symmetry breaking in QCD. Using lattice QCD formalism, we analytically express the various confinement indicators, such as the Polyakov loop, its fluctuations, the Wilson loop, the inter-quar
I will review essential features of the Hamiltonian approach to QCD in Coulomb gauge showing that Gribovs confinement scenario is realized in this gauge. For this purpose I will discuss in detail the emergence of the horizon condition and the Coulomb
We study light (u, d) quark matter with charm impurities. These impurities are added to the Lagrangian density. We derive the equation of state (EOS) of this kind of quark matter, which contains a Kondo phase. We explore this EOS and study the struct
