The shape function f(k_+) describes Fermi motion effects in inclusive semi-leptonic decays such as B -> X_u+e+nu near the end-point of the lepton spectrum. We compute the leading one-loop corrections to the shape function f(k_+) in the effective theory with a hard cut-off regularization. The matching constant onto full QCD is infrared safe, i.e. the leading infrared singularity represented by the term log^2(k_+) cancels in the difference of integrals. We compare the hard cut-off result with the result in dimensional regularization, the latter containing an additional factor of two in the coefficient of the log^2(k_+) term, and consequently requiring an oversubtraction.
We study the matching of the next-to-leading logarithmic approximation (NLLA) onto the fixed next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) calculation for event shape distributions in electron-positron annihilation. The resulting theoretical predictions combi
We present a systematic study of the shape function for inclusive B-meson decays in the heavy-quark limit, which is based on the QCD equations of motion and heavy-quark symmetry, and takes into account the cusp divergence due to radiative corrections.
We evaluate the light-cone operator product expansion for the unpolarized transverse momentum dependent (TMD) operator in the background-field technique up twist-3 inclusively. The next-to-leading order (NLO) matching coefficient for the Sivers funct
The inclusive decay B --> X_u l nu is of much interest because of its potential to constrain the CKM element |V_ub|. Experimental cuts required to suppress charm background restrict measurements of this decay to the shape-function region, where the h
Using methods of effective field theory, factorized expressions for arbitrary B -> X_u l nu decay distributions in the shape-function region of large hadronic energy and moderate hadronic invariant mass are derived. Large logarithms are resummed at n
