Different forms of non-linear equations which mimic parton saturation in the non-perturbative regime are examined. These equations lead to corresponding unitarization schemes in the impact parameter representation of the hadron scattering amplitude. It is shown how specific properties of the non-linear equations reflect different features of the diffraction processes.

The analytic properties of the eikonal and U-matrix unitarization schemes are examined. It is shown that the basic properties of these schemes are identical. Both can fill the full circle of unitarity, and both can lead to standard and non-standard a symptotic relations for the ratio of the elastic cross section to the total cross section. The relation between the phases of the unitarized amplitudes in each scheme is examined, and it is shown that demanding equivalence of the two schemes leads to a bound on the phase in the U-matrix scheme.
We consider two well-known classes of unitarization of Born amplitudes of hadron elastic scattering. The standard class, which saturates at the black disk limit includes the standard eikonal representation, while the other class, which goes beyond th e black-disk limit to reach the full unitarity circle, includes the U matrix. It is shown that the basic properties of these schemes are independent of the functional form used for the unitarisation, and that U matrix and eikonal schemes can be extended to have similar properties. A common form of unitarisation is proposed interpolating between both classes. The correspondence with different nonlinear equations are also briefly examined.
The analytic properties of the elastic hadron scattering amplitude are examined in the impact parameter representation at high energies. Different unitarization procedures and the corresponding non-linear equations are presented. Several unitarisatio n schemes are presented. They lead to almost identical results at the LHC.
The calculations of $Z + b{bar b}$ tagged jet production performed in the four- and five-flavour schemes allow for detailed comparison of the heavy flavour structure of collinear and transverse momentum dependent (TMD) parton distributions as well as for detailed investigations of heavy quarks radiated during the initial state parton shower cascade. We have determined the first set of collinear and TMD parton distributions in the four-flavour scheme with NLO DGLAP splitting functions within the Parton-Branching (PB) approach. The four- and five-flavour PB-TMD distributions were used to calculate $Z + b{bar b}$ tagged jet production at LHC energies and very good agreement with measurements obtained at $sqrt{s} = 8, 13 $ TeV by the CMS and ATLAS collaborations is observed. The different configurations of the hard process in the four- and five-flavour schemes allow for a detailed investigation of the performance of heavy flavor collinear and TMD parton distributions and the corresponding initial TMD parton shower, giving confidence in the evolution of the PB-TMD parton densities as well as in the PB-TMD parton shower.
Time-domain seismic forward and inverse modeling for a dissipative medium is a vital research topic to investigate the attenuation structure of the Earth. Constant Q, also called frequency independence of the quality factor, is a common assumption fo r seismic Q inversion. We propose the first- and second-order nearly constant Q dissipative models of the generalized standard linear solid type, using a novel Q-independent weighting function approach. The two new models, which originate from the Kolsky model (a nearly constant Q model) and the Kjartansson model (an exactly constant Q model), result in the corresponding wave equations in differential form. Even for extremely strong attenuation (e.g., Q = 5), the quality factor and phase velocity for the two new models are close to those for the Kolsky and Kjartansson models, in a frequency range of interest. The wave equations for the two new models involve explicitly a specified Q parameter and have compact and simple forms. We provide a novel perspective on how to build a nearly constant Q dissipative model which is beneficial for time-domain large scale wavefield forward and inverse modeling. This perspective could also help obtain other dissipative models with similar advantages. We also discuss the extension beyond viscoacousticity and other related issues, for example, extending the two new models to viscoelastic anisotropy.
