We investigate inclusive Standard Model Higgs boson pair production at lepton and hadron colliders for Higgs boson masses in the range 120 GeV < m_H < 200 GeV. For m_H < 140 GeV we find that hadron colliders have a very limited capability to determine the Higgs boson self-coupling, lambda, due to an overwhelming background. We also find that, in this mass range, supersymmetric Higgs boson pairs may be observable at the LHC, but a measurement of the self coupling will not be possible. For m_H > 140 GeV we examine ZHH and HH nu bar-nu production at a future e+e- linear collider with center of mass energy in the range of sqrt{s}=0.5 - 1 TeV, and find that this is likely to be equally difficult. Combining our results with those of previous literature, which has demonstrated the capability of hadron and lepton machines to determine lambda in either the high or the low mass regions, we establish a very strong complementarity of these machines.
I report on a calculation of the inclusive Higgs boson production cross section at hadron colliders at next-to-next-to-leading order in QCD. The result is computed as an expansion about the threshold region. By continuing the expansion to very high o
We study Higgs boson pair production processes at future hadron and lepton colliders including the photon collision option in several new physics models; i.e., the two-Higgs-doublet model, the scalar leptoquark model, the sequential fourth generation
This document summarises the current theoretical and experimental status of the di-Higgs boson production searches, and of the direct and indirect constraints on the Higgs boson self-coupling, with the wish to serve as a useful guide for the next yea
We present the Higgs boson production cross section at Hadron colliders in the gluon fusion production mode through N3LO in perturbative QCD. Specifically, we work in an effective theory where the top quark is assumed to be infinitely heavy and all o
The search for Higgs bosons and extensions of the Standard Model of Elementary Particle Physics are main tasks of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN which will start operation mid-2008. In this thesis processes which can be used to detect supers
