We establish a relation between entanglement in simple quantum mechanical qubit systems and in wormhole physics as considered in the context of the AdS/CFT correspondence. We show that in both cases, states with the same entanglement structure, indistinguishable by any local measurement, nevertheless are characterized by a different Berry phase. This feature is experimentally accessible in coupled qubit systems where states with different Berry phase are related by unitary transformations. In the wormhole case, these transformations are identified with a time evolution of one of the two throats.

We explore in detail the properties of two melonic quantum mechanical theories which can be formulated either as fermionic matrix quantum mechanics in the new large $D$ limit, or as disordered models. Both models have a mass parameter $m$ and the tra nsition from the perturbative large $m$ region to the strongly coupled black-hole small $m$ region is associated with several interesting phenomena. One model, with ${rm U}(n)^2$ symmetry and equivalent to complex SYK, has a line of first-order phase transitions terminating, for a strictly positive temperature, at a critical point having non-trivial, non-mean-field critical exponents for standard thermodynamical quantities. Quasi-normal frequencies, as well as Lyapunov exponents associated with out-of-time-ordered four-point functions, are also singular at the critical point, leading to interesting new critical exponents. The other model, with reduced ${rm U}(n)$ symmetry, has a quantum critical point at strictly zero temperature and positive critical mass $m_*$. For $0<m<m_*$, it flows to a new gapless IR fixed point, for which the standard scale invariance is spontaneously broken by the appearance of distinct scaling dimensions $Delta_+$ and $Delta_-$ for the Euclidean two-point function when $trightarrow +infty$ and $trightarrow -infty$ respectively. We provide several detailed and pedagogical derivations, including rigorous proofs or simplified arguments for some results that were already known in the literature.
We construct a nearly-$AdS_2$ solution describing an eternal traversable wormhole. The solution contains negative null energy generated by quantum fields under the influence of an external coupling between the two boundaries. In parallel, we discuss two SYK systems coupled by a relevant interaction. The physics of the two cases is very similar. They both share a gravitational subsector which is identical. The solution within this subsector sets the stage for dynamics which is almost conformal invariant. We study this system in detail, both in gravity and in the SYK model. The coupled SYK models have an interesting phase diagram at finite temperature, displaying the usual Hawking-Page transition between the thermal AdS phase at low temperature and the black hole phase at high temperature. Interestingly, these two phases are continuously connected in the microcannonical ensemble.
We introduce new representations to formulate quantum mechanics on noncommutative coordinate space, which explicitly display entanglement properties between degrees of freedom of different coordinate components and hence could be called entangled sta te representations. Furthermore, we derive unitary transformations between the new representations and the ordinary one used in noncommutative quantum mechanics (NCQM) and obtain eigenfunctions of some basic operators in these representations. To show the potential applications of the entangled state representations, a two-dimensional harmonic oscillator on the noncommutative plane with both coordinate-coordinate and momentum-momentum couplings is exactly solved.

We study the $Tbar T$ deformation on a multi-quantum mechanical systems. By introducing the dynamical coordinate transformation, we obtain the deformed theory as well as the solution. We further study the thermo-field-double state under the $Tbar T$ deformation on these systems, including conformal quantum mechanical system, the Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev model, and the model satisfying Eigenstate Thermalization Hypothesis. We find common regenesis phenomena where the signal injected into one local system can regenerate from the other local system. From the bulk picture, we study the deformation on Jackiw-Teitelboim gravity governed by Schwarzian action and find that the regenesis phenomena here are not related to the causal structure of semi-classical wormhole.
The SYK model has a wormhole-like solution after averaging over the fermionic coupling in the nearly $AdS_2$ space. Even when the couplings are fixed the contribution of these wormholes continues to exist and new saddle points appear which are interp reted as half-wormholes. In this paper, we will study the fate of these wormholes in a model without quenched disorder namely a tensor model with $O(N)^{q-1}$ gauge symmetry whose correlation function and thermodynamics in the large $N$ limit are the same as that of SYK model. We will restate the factorization problem linked with the wormhole threaded Wilson, operator, in terms of global charges or non-trivial cobordism classes associated with disconnected wormholes. Therefore in order for the partition function to factorize especially at short distances, there must exist certain topological defects which break the global symmetry associated with wormholes and make the theory devoid of global symmetries. We will interpret these wormholes with added topological defects as our half-wormholes. We will also comment on the late time behaviour of the spectral form factor, particularly its leading and sub-leading order contributions coming from higher genus wormholes in the gravitational sector. We also found its underlying connections with the Brownian SYK model, particularly in the plateau region which has constant contributions coming from non-trivial saddle points of holonomy from the wormhole followed by an exponential rising part, where the other non-trivial saddles from half-wormhole dominate and give rise to unusual thermodynamics in the bulk sector due to non-perturbative effects.
