The first observation of the decay $B^0 rightarrow D^0 overline{D}{}^0 K^+ pi^-$ is reported using proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.7 $mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ collected by the LHCb experiment in 2011, 2012 and 2016. The measurement is performed in the full kinematically allowed range of the decay outside of the $D^{*-}$ region. The ratio of the branching fraction relative to that of the control channel $B^0 rightarrow D^{*-} D^0 K^+$ is measured to be $mathcal{R} = (14.2 pm 1.1 pm 1.0)%$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The absolute branching fraction of $B^0 rightarrow D^0 overline{D}{}^0 K^+ pi^-$ decays is thus determined to be $mathcal{B}(B^0 rightarrow D^0 overline{D}{}^0 K^+ pi^-) = (3.50 pm 0.27 pm 0.26 pm 0.30) times 10^{-4}$, where the third uncertainty is due to the branching fraction of the control channel. This decay mode is expected to provide insights to spectroscopy and the charm-loop contributions in rare semileptonic decays.

The first observation of the $B_s^0 to overline{D}^0 K^+ K^-$ decay is reported, together with the most precise branching fraction measurement of the mode $B^0 to overline{D}^0 K^+ K^-$. The results are obtained from an analysis of $pp$ collision dat a corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3.0~textrm{fb}^{-1}$. The data were collected with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of $7$ and $8$ TeV. The branching fraction of the $B^0 to overline{D}^0 K^+ K^-$ decay is measured relative to that of the decay $B^0 to overline{D}^0 pi^+ pi^-$ to be $$frac{mathcal{B}(B^0 to overline{D}^0 K^+ K^-)}{mathcal{B}(B^0 to overline{D}^0 pi^+ pi^-)} = (6.9 pm 0.4 pm 0.3)%,$$ where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The measured branching fraction of the $B_s^0 to overline{D}^0 K^+ K^-$ decay mode relative to that of the corresponding $B^0$ decay is $$frac{mathcal{B}(B_s^0 to overline{D}^0 K^+ K^-)}{mathcal{B}(B^0 to overline{D}^0 K^+ K^-)} = (93.0 pm 8.9 pm 6.9)%.$$ Using the known branching fraction of ${B^0 to overline{D}^0 pi^+ pi^-}$, the values of ${{mathcal B}(B^0 to overline{D}^0 K^+ K^- )=(6.1 pm 0.4 pm 0.3 pm 0.3) times 10^{-5}}$, and ${{cal B}(B_s^0 to overline{D}^0 K^+ K^-)=}$ $(5.7 pm 0.5 pm 0.4 pm 0.5) times 10^{-5}$ are obtained, where the third uncertainties arise from the branching fraction of the decay modes ${B^0 to overline{D}^0 pi^+ pi^-}$ and $B^0 to overline{D}^0 K^+ K^-$, respectively.
We present an observation and rate measurement of the decay D0 -> K+pi-pi0 produced in 9/fb of e+e- collisions near the Upsilon(4S) resonance. The signal is inconsistent with an upward fluctuation of the background by 4.9 standard deviations. We meas ured the rate of D0 -> K+pi-pi0 normalized to the rate of D0bar -> K+pi-pi0 to be 0.0043 +0.0011 -0.0010 (stat) +/- 0.0007 (syst). This decay can be produced by doubly-Cabibbo-suppressed decays or by the D0 evolving into a D0bar through mixing, followed by a Cabibbo-favored decay to K+pi-pi0. We also found the CP asymmetry A=(8 +25 -22)% to be consistent with zero.
The decay $overline{B}_s^0 rightarrow psi(2S) K^+ pi^-$ is observed using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3.0fb^{-1}$ collected by the LHCb experiment in $pp$ collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The branchin g fraction relative to the $B^0rightarrow psi(2S) K^+ pi^-$ decay mode is measured to be begin{equation} frac{{cal B}(overline{B}^0_s rightarrow psi(2S) K^+ pi^-)}{{cal B}(B^0 rightarrow psi(2S) K^+ pi^-)} = 5.38 pm 0.36 (stat) pm 0.22 (syst) pm 0.31 , (f_s/f_d) , %, onumber end{equation} where $f_s/f_d$ indicates the uncertainty due to the ratio of probabilities for a $b$ quark to hadronise into a $B_s^0$ or $B^0$ meson. Using an amplitude analysis, the fraction of decays proceeding via an intermediate $K^*(892)^0$ meson is measured to be $0.645 pm 0.049 (stat) pm 0.049 (syst)$ and its longitudinal polarisation fraction is $0.524 pm 0.056 (stat) pm 0.029 (syst)$. The relative branching fraction for this component is determined to be begin{equation} frac{{cal B}(overline{B}^0_s rightarrow psi(2S) K^*(892)^0)}{{cal B}(B^0 rightarrow psi(2S) K^*(892)^0)} = 5.58 pm 0.57 (stat) pm 0.40 (syst) pm 0.32 , (f_s/f_d) , %. onumber end{equation} In addition, the mass splitting between the $B_s^0$ and $B^0$ mesons is measured as begin{equation} M(B^0_s) - M(B^0) = 87.45 pm 0.44 (stat) pm 0.07 (syst) MeV/c^2. onumber end{equation}
The first observation of the decay $kstarkstar$ is reported using 35invpb of data collected by LHCb in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. A total of $49.8 pm 7.5$ $B^0_s rightarrow (K^+pi^-)(K^-pi^+)$ events are {observed w ithin $pm 50 mevcc$ of the Bs mass and $746 mevcc < m_{Kpi}< 1046 mevcc$, mostly coming from a resonant $kstarkstar$ signal.} The branching fraction and the CP-averaged Kstarz longitudinal polarization fraction are measured to be {$BR(kstarkstar) = (2.81 pm 0.46 ({rm stat.}) pm 0.45 ({rm syst.}) pm 0.34, (f_s/f_d))times10^{-5}$} and $f_L = 0.31 pm 0.12 ({rm stat.}) pm 0.04 ({rm syst.})$.
The Dalitz plot distribution of $B^0 rightarrow bar{D}^0 K^+ pi^-$ decays is studied using a data sample corresponding to $3.0rm{fb}^{-1}$ of $pp$ collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment during 2011 and 2012. The data are described by an ampli tude model that contains contributions from intermediate $K^*(892)^0$, $K^*(1410)^0$, $K^*_2(1430)^0$ and $D^*_2(2460)^-$ resonances. The model also contains components to describe broad structures, including the $K^*_0(1430)^0$ and $D^*_0(2400)^-$ resonances, in the $Kpi$ S-wave and the $Dpi$ S- and P-waves. The masses and widths of the $D^*_0(2400)^-$ and $D^*_2(2460)^-$ resonances are measured, as are the complex amplitudes and fit fractions for all components included in the amplitude model. The model obtained will be an integral part of a future determination of the angle $gamma$ of the CKM quark mixing matrix using $B^0 rightarrow D K^+ pi^-$ decays.
