Recent precise measurement of the electron anomalous magnetic moment (AMM) adds to the longstanding tension of the muon AMM and together strongly point towards physics beyond the Standard Model (BSM). In this work, we propose a solution to both anomalies in an economical fashion via a light scalar that emerges from a second Higgs doublet and resides in the $mathcal{O}(10)$-MeV to $mathcal{O}(1)$-GeV mass range yielding the right sizes and signs for these deviations due to one-loop and two-loop dominance for the muon and the electron, respectively. A scalar of this type is subject to a number of various experimental constraints, however, as we show, it can remain sufficiently light by evading all experimental bounds and has the great potential to be discovered in the near-future low-energy experiments. The analysis provided here is equally applicable to any BSM scenario for which a light scalar is allowed to have sizable flavor-diagonal couplings to the charged leptons. In addition to the light scalar, our theory predicts the existence of a nearly degenerate charged scalar and a pseudoscalar, which have masses of the order of the electroweak scale. We analyze possible ways to probe new-physics signals at colliders and find that this scenario can be tested at the LHC by looking at the novel process $pp to H^pm H^pm jj to l^pm l^pm j j + {E!!!!/}_{T}$ via same-sign pair production of charged Higgs bosons.

We show that a unified framework based on an $SU(2)_H$ horizontal symmetry which generates a naturally large neutrino transition magnetic moment and explains the XENON1T electron recoil excess also predicts a positive shift in the muon anomalous magn etic moment. This shift is of the right magnitude to be consistent with the Brookhaven measurement as well as the recent Fermilab measurement of the muon $g-2$. A relatively light neutral scalar from a Higgs doublet with mass near 100 GeV contributes to muon $g-2$, while its charged partner induces the neutrino magnetic moment. We analyze the collider tests of this framework and find that the HL-LHC can probe the entire parameter space of these models.
The discrepancy between the measured value and the Standard Model prediction for the muon anomalous magnetic moment is one of the important issues in the particle physics. In this paper, we consider a two Higgs doublet model (2HDM) where the extra Hi ggs doublet couples to muon and tau in lepton flavor violating (LFV) way and the one-loop correction involving the scalars largely contributes to the muon anomalous magnetic moment. The couplings should be sizable to explain the discrepancy, so that the extra Higgs bosons would dominantly decay into $mutau$ LFV modes, which makes the model testable at the LHC through multi-lepton signatures even though they are produced via the electroweak interaction. We discuss the current status and the future prospect for the extra Higgs searches at the LHC, and demonstrate the reconstruction of the mass spectrum using the multi-lepton events.
The Muon g-2 experiment at FERMILAB has confirmed the muon anomalous magnetic moment anomaly with an error bar 15% smaller and a different central value compared with the previous Brookhaven result. The combined results from FERMILAB and Brookhaven s how a difference with theory at a significance of $4.2sigma$, strongly indicating the presence of new physics. In light of this new result, we discuss a Two Higgs Doublet model augmented by an Abelian gauge symmetry that can simultaneously accommodate a light dark matter candidate and $(g-2)_mu$, in agreement with existing bounds.
The leading order hadronic contribution to the muon magnetic moment anomaly, $a^{HAD}_mu$, is determined entirely in the framework of QCD. The result in the light-quark sector, in units of $10^{-10}$, is $a^{HAD}_mu|_{uds} =686 pm 26$, and in the hea vy-quark sector $a^{HAD}_mu|_{c} =14.4 pm 0.1$, and $a^{HAD}_mu|_{b} =0.29 pm 0.01$, resulting in $a^{HAD}_mu = 701 pm 26$. The main uncertainty is due to the current lattice QCD value of the first and second derivative of the electromagnetic current correlator at the origin. Expected improvement in the precision of these derivatives may render this approach the most accurate and trustworthy determination of the leading order $a^{HAD}_mu$.

The minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) with complex parameters can contribute sizably to muon/electron anomalous magnetic dipole momemnt ($g-2$) and electric dipole moment (EDM). The electron $g-2$ interplays with electron EDM; the muon $g- 2$ can also interplay with electron EDM assuming the universality between smuon and selectron masses, either of which can constrain the relevant CP-phases in the MSSM. In this work, we first use such an interplay to derive an approximate analytical upper limit on the relevant CP-phase. Then we extensively scan the parameter space to obtain more accurate upper limits. We obtain the following observations: (i) The muon $g-2$ in the $2sigma$ range combined with the electron EDM upper limit (assuming the universality between smuon and selectron masses) typically constrains the relevant CP-phase under $1.9times 10^{-5} (text{rad})$; (ii) The electron $g-2$ in the $2sigma$ range (Berkeley) interplays with the electron EDM upper limit (without assuming the universality between smuon and selectron masses) constrains the relevant CP-phase under $3.9times 10^{-6}(text{rad})$ (also requiring muon $g-2$ in the allowed $2sigma$ range). We also find some special cancellations in the parameter space which can relax the constraints by a couple of orders. Such stringent limits on CP-phases may pose a challenge for model building of SUSY, i.e., how to naturally suppress these phases.
