In the present work, we report our in depth study of 12C(p,pgamma)12C reaction both experimentally and theoretically with proton beam energy ranging from 8 MeV to 22 MeV. The angular distributions were measured at six different angles. We discuss the gamma angular distributions, total cross sections values for 4.438, 9.64, 12.7 and 15.1 MeV states. We also describe the theoretical interpretation of our measurements using optical model analysis. We also report the branching ratios from our measurements. For the first time, we have measured the the cross section and branching ratio for the 9.64 MeV state.

Angular distribution of the 12C(7Li,6He)13N reaction at E(7Li) = 44.0 MeV was measured at the HI-13 tandem accelerator of Beijing, China. Asymptotic normalization coefficient (ANC) of 13N = 12C + p was derived to be 1.64 $pm$ 0.11 fm$^{-1/2}$ through distorted wave Born approximation (DWBA) analysis. The ANC was then used to deduce the astrophysical $S(E)$ factors and reaction rates for direct capture in 12C(p,g)13N at energies of astrophysical relevance.
Existing measurements of the angular distributions of the ground-state to ground-state transitions of the 12C(d,p)13C and 13C(p,d)12C neutron-transfer reactions have been analyzed systematically using the Johnson-Soper adiabatic and distorted-wave th eories. When using a consistent set of physical inputs the deduced spectroscopic factors are consistent to within 20% for incident deuteron energies from 6 to 60 MeV. By contrast, original analyses of many of these data quoted spectroscopic factors that differed by up to a factor of five. The present analysis provides an important reference point from which to assess the requirements of future spectroscopic analyses of transfer reactions measured in inverse kinematics using rare nuclei.
The first measurements of the induced proton polarization, P_n, for the 12C (e,evec{p}) reaction are reported. The experiment was performed at quasifree kinematics for energy and momentum transfer (omega,q) approx (294 MeV, 756 MeV/c) and sampled a r ecoil momentum range of 0-250 MeV/c. The induced polarization arises from final-state interactions and for these kinematics is dominated by the real part of the spin-orbit optical potential. The distorted-wave impulse approximation provides good agreement with data for the 1p_{3/2} shell. The data for the continuum suggest that both the 1s_{1/2} shell and underlying l > 1 configurations contribute.
The inclusive 12C(p,p) and exclusive 12C(p,pX) reactions have been studied with a beam energy of 156 MeV and for X = p and alpha. The study focuses on the (p,pX) reaction mechanism and on the structure of 12C just above the particle-emission threshol d, 14 < E_x < 28 MeV. Cross sections were simultaneously measured for all three reactions. The exclusive data were analyzed by making multiple-peak fits of the spectra and by Legendre-polynomial fits of the angular correlations. Multiple-peak fits were also made of the inclusive spectra. The resultant cross sections were compared to theoretical calculations. An analysis of the results shows that this region of E_x consists predominantly of resonant excitations, in contradiction to the findings of previous analyses.
New experimental data for the 12C+12C reaction have been measured in the centre-of-mass energy range E_{c.m.}= 40 to 60 MeV. Excitation functions for a number of single and mutual $^{12}$C inelastic channels have been measured which include the 0_{gs }, 2_{1}^+, 0_{2}^+, 3_{1}^-, and 4$_1^+$ 12C states. All of the reactions display largely unstructured excitation functions over this energy range. The absence of further resonances in this energy region for the 12C(12C,2C[3_1^-])12C[3_1^-$] reaction confirms theoretical predictions of the termination of the band of resonances found at lower centre-of-mass energies in this channel.
