Motivated by the absence of any clear signal of physics beyond the Standard Model at the LHC after Run I, we discuss one possible slight hint of new physics and one non-minimal extension of the Standard Model. In the first part we provide a tentative explanation of a small excess of multilepton events, observed by the CMS collaboration, by means of a simplified model of gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking. In the second part we discuss how the standard phenomenology of gauge mediation can be significantly modified if one makes the non-minimal assumption that supersymmetry is broken in more than one hidden sector. Such multiple hidden sector models involve light neutral fermions called pseudo-goldstini and, due to the extra decay steps they induce, where soft photons are emitted, these models give rise to multiphoton plus missing energy signatures. We discuss why the existing LHC searches are poorly sensitive to these model and we propose new searches designed to probe them.

We investigate multilepton LHC signals arising from electroweak processes involving sleptons. We consider the framework of general gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking, focusing on models where the low mass region of the superpartner spectrum consis ts of the three generations of charged sleptons and the nearly massless gravitino. We demonstrate how such models can provide an explanation for the anomalous four lepton events recently observed by the CMS collaboration, while satisfying other existing experimental constraints. The best fit to the CMS data is obtained for a selectron/smuon mass of around 145 GeV and a stau mass of around 90 GeV. These models also give rise to final states with more than four leptons, offering alternative channels in which they can be probed and we estimate the corresponding production rates at the LHC.
We study in detail the collider signatures of an $SU(2)_R$ fermionic quintuplet in the framework of left-right symmetric model in the context of the 13 TeV LHC. Apart from giving a viable dark matter candidate ($chi^0$), this model provides unique co llider imprints in the form of same-sign multileptons through the decays of multi-charged components of the quintuplet. In particular, we consider the scenario where the quintuplet carries $(B - L) = 4$ charge, allowing for the presence of high charge-multiplicity particles with relatively larger mass differences among them compared to $(B - L)$ = 0 or 2. In this paper, we mainly focus on the same-sign n-lepton signatures (nSSL). We show that with an integrated luminosity of 500 $fb^{-1}$, the mass of the neutral component, $M_{chi^0} leq 480~(800)$ GeV can be excluded at 95% CL in the 2SSL (3SSL) channel after imposing several selection criteria. We also show that a $5sigma$ discovery is also achievable if $M_{chi^0} leq 390~(750)$ GeV in the 2SSL (3SSL) channel with 1000 $fb^{-1}$ integrated luminosity.

In this presentation an account of the multi-lepton (electrons and muons) anomalies at the LHC is given. These include the excess production of opposite sign leptons with and without b-quarks, including a corner of the phase-space with a full hadroni c jet veto; same sign leptons with and without b-quarks; three leptons with and without b-quarks, including also the presence of a $Z$. Excesses emerge in corners of the phase space where a range of SM processes dominate, indicating that the potential mismodeling of a particular SM process is unlikely to explain them. A procedure is implemented that avoids parameter tuning or scanning the phase-space in order to nullify potential look-else-where effects or selection biases. The internal consistency of these anomalies and their interpretation in the framework of a simplified model are presented. Motivated by the multi-lepton anomalies, a search for narrow resonances with $Srightarrowgammagamma, Zgamma$ in association with light jets, $b$-jets or missing transverse energy is performed. The maximum local (global) significance is achieved for $m_S=151.5$,GeV with 5.1$sigma$ (4.8$sigma$).
Gluinos that result in classic large missing transverse momentum signatures at the LHC have been excluded by 2011 searches if they are lighter than around 800 GeV. This adds to the tension between experiment and supersymmetric solutions of the natura lness problem, since the gluino is required to be light if the electroweak scale is to be natural. Here, we examine natural scenarios where supersymmetry is present, but was hidden from 2011 searches due to violation of R-parity and the absence of a large missing transverse momentum signature. Naturalness suggests that third generation states should dominate gluino decays and we argue that this leads to a generic signature in the form of same-sign, flavour-ambivalent leptons, without large missing transverse momentum. As a result, searches in this channel are able to cover a broad range of scenarios with some generality and one should seek gluinos that decay in this way with masses below a TeV. We encourage the LHC experiments to tailor a search for supersymmetry in this form. We consider a specific case that is good at hiding: baryon number violation, and estimate that the most constraining existing search from 2011 data implies a lower bound on the gluino mass of 550 GeV.
Light stops consistent with the Higgs boson mass of $sim126,{rm GeV}$ are investigated within the framework of minimal supergravity. It is shown that models with light stops which are also consistent with the thermal relic density constraints require stop coannihilation with the neutralino LSP. The analysis shows that the residual set of parameter points with light stops satisfying both the Higgs mass and the relic density constraints lie within a series of thin strips in the $m_0-m_{1/2}$ plane for different values of $A_0/m_0$. Consequently, this region of minimal supergravity parameter space makes a number of very precise predictions. It is found that light stops of mass down to 400~GeV or lower can exist consistent with all constraints. A signal analysis for this class of models at LHC RUN-II is carried out and the dominant signals for their detection identified. Also computed is the minimum integrated luminosity for $5sigma$ discovery of the models analyzed. If supersymmetry is realized in this manner, the stop masses can be as low as 400~GeV or lower, and the mass gap between the lightest neutralino and lightest stop will be approximately 30-40~GeV. We have optimized the ATLAS signal regions specifically for stop searches in the parameter space and find that a stop with mass $sim 375,{rm GeV}$ can be discovered with as little as $sim$ 60~fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity at RUN-II of the LHC; the integrated luminosity needed for discovery could be further reduced with more efficient signature analyses. The direct detection of dark matter in this class of models is also discussed. It is found that dark matter cross sections lie close to, but above, coherent neutrino scattering and would require multi-ton detectors such as LZ to see a signal of dark matter for this class of models.
