The Pierre Auger Observatory is the worlds largest cosmic ray observatory. Our current exposure reaches nearly 40,000 km$^2$ str and provides us with an unprecedented quality data set. The performance and stability of the detectors and their enhancements are described. Data analyses have led to a number of major breakthroughs. Among these we discuss the energy spectrum and the searches for large-scale anisotropies. We present analyses of our X$_{max}$ data and show how it can be interpreted in terms of mass composition. We also describe some new analyses that extract mass sensitive parameters from the 100% duty cycle SD data. A coherent interpretation of all these recent results opens new directions. The consequences regarding the cosmic ray composition and the properties of UHECR sources are briefly discussed.

An overview of the multi-messenger capabilities of the Pierre Auger Observatory is presented. The techniques and performance of searching for Ultra-High Energy neutrinos, photons and neutrons are described. Some of the most relevant results are revie wed, such as stringent upper bounds that were placed to a flux of diffuse cosmogenic neutrinos and photons, bounds placed on neutrinos emitted from compact binary mergers that were detected by LIGO and Virgo during their first and second observing runs, as well as searches for high energy photons and neutrons from the Galactic center that constrain the properties of the putative Galactic PeVatron, observed by the H.E.S.S. collaboration. The observation of directional correlations between ultra-high energy cosmic rays and either high energy astrophysical neutrinos or specific source populations, weighted by their electromagnetic radiation, are also discussed. They constitute additional multi-messenger approaches aimed at identifying the sources of high energy cosmic rays.
The Pierre Auger Observatory, located on a vast, high plain in western Argentina, is the worlds largest cosmic ray observatory. The objectives of the Observatory are to probe the origin and characteristics of cosmic rays above $10^{17}$ eV and to stu dy the interactions of these, the most energetic particles observed in nature. The Auger design features an array of 1660 water-Cherenkov particle detector stations spread over 3000 km$^2$ overlooked by 24 air fluorescence telescopes. In addition, three high elevation fluorescence telescopes overlook a 23.5 km$^2$, 61-detector infilled array with 750 m spacing. The Observatory has been in successful operation since completion in 2008 and has recorded data from an exposure exceeding 40,000 km$^2$ sr yr. This paper describes the design and performance of the detectors, related subsystems and infrastructure that make up the Auger Observatory.

We apply a recently proposed cross-correlation power spectrum technique to study relationship between the ultra-high energy cosmic ray (UHERC) flux from the Pierre Auger Observatory and galaxies from the 2MASS Redshift Survey. Using a simple linear b ias model relative to the galaxy auto power spectrum, we are able to constrain the value of bias to be less than 1% for UHECR with energies 4 EeV - 8 EeV, less than 2.3% for UHECR with energies above 8 EeV and less than 21% for UHECR with energies above 52 EeV (all 95% confidence limit). We study energy dependence of the bias, but the small sample size does not allow us to reach any statistically significant conclusions. For the cosmic ray events above 52 EeV we discover a curious excess cross-correlation at $sim 1^circ$ degree scales. Given similar cross-correlation is not visible at larger angular scales, statistical fluctuation seems like the most plausible explanation.
