We derive relations for baryon photo-decay amplitudes both for the Breit-Wigner and the pole positions. With an updated SAID partial wave analysis, technically similar to the earliest Virginia Tech analysis of photoproduction data, we compare photo-decay amplitudes at both resonance positions for a few selected nucleon resonances. Comparisons are made and a qualitative similarity, seen between the pole and Breit-Wigner values extracted by the Bonn-Gatchina group, is confirmed in the present study.

We present a calculation of pion photo- and electroproduction in manifestly Lorentz-invariant baryon chiral perturbation theory up to and including order q^4. We fix the low-energy constants by fitting experimental data in all available reaction chan nels. Our results can be accessed via a web interface, the so-called chiral MAID.

The reactions $gamma ptopi^0 p$ and $gamma ptopi^+ n$ are analyzed in a semi-phenomenological approach up to $Esim2.3$ GeV. Fits to differential cross section and single and double polarization observables are performed. A good overall reproduction o f the available photoproduction data is achieved. The Julich2012 dynamical coupled-channel model -which describes elastic $pi N$ scattering and the world data base of the reactions $pi Ntoeta N$, $KLambda$, and $KSigma$ at the same time - is employed as the hadronic interaction in the final state. The framework guarantees analyticity and, thus, allows for a reliable extraction of resonance parameters in terms of poles and residues. In particular, the photocouplings at the pole can be extracted and are presented.

This is a contribution for the Proceedings of the Conference Hot Quarks 2016, held at South Padre Island, Texas, USA, 12-17 September 2016. I briefly review some thermodynamic and baryon transport results obtained from a bottom-up Einstein-Maxwell-Di laton holographic model engineered to describe the physics of the quark-gluon plasma at finite temperature and baryon density. The results for the equation of state, baryon susceptibilities, and the curvature of the crossover band are in quantitative agreement with the corresponding lattice QCD results with $2+1$ flavors and physical quark masses. Baryon diffusion is predicted to be suppressed by increasing the baryon chemical potential.
We report on the application of a cascade + viscous hydro + cascade model for heavy ion collisions in the RHIC Beam Energy Scan range, $sqrt{s_{rm NN}}=6.3dots200$ GeV. By constraining model parameters to reproduce the data we find that the effective (average) value of the shear viscosity over entropy density ratio $eta/s$ decreases from 0.2 to 0.08 when collision energy grows from $sqrt{s_{rm NN}}approx7$ to 39 GeV.
We present results of the first ab initio lattice QCD calculation of the normalization constants and first moments of the leading twist distribution amplitudes of the full baryon octet, corresponding to the small transverse distance limit of the asso ciated S-wave light-cone wave functions. The P-wave (higher twist) normalization constants are evaluated as well. The calculation is done using $N_f=2+1$ flavors of dynamical (clover) fermions on lattices of different volumes and pion masses down to 222 MeV. Significant SU(3) flavor symmetry violation effects in the shape of the distribution amplitudes are observed.
