Neutral pion number N0 distributions for each total number of particles in event Ntot=Nch+N0 are obtained. The scaled variance of neutral pion fluctuations, omega=D/<N0>, is measured. The fluctuations increase at Ntot >22. According to quantum statistics models it may indicate for the approaching to pion condensate conditions for high pion multiplicity in the system.

The single-pion production reactions $ppto dpi^+$, $ppto nppi^+$ and $ppto pppi^0$ were measured at a beam momentum of 0.95 GeV/c ($T_p approx$ 400 MeV) using the short version of the COSY-TOF spectrometer. The central calorimeter provided particle i dentification, energy determination and neutron detection in addition to time-of-flight and angle measurements from other detector parts. Thus all pion production channels were recorded with 1-4 overconstraints. Main emphasis is put on the presentation and discussion of the $nppi^+$ channel, since the results on the other channels have already been published previously. The total and differential cross sections obtained are compared to theoretical calculations. In contrast to the $pppi^0$ channel we find in the $nppi^+$ channel a strong influence of the $Delta$ excitation already at this energy close to threshold. In particular we find a $(3 cos^2Theta + 1)$ dependence in the pion angular distribution, typical for a pure s-channel $Delta$ excitation and identical to that observed in the $dpi^+$ channel. Since the latter is understood by a s-channel resonance in the $^1D_2$ $pn$ partial wave, we discuss an analogous scenario for the $pnpi^+$ channel.

Main emphasis is put on the discussion of the $pppi^0$ channel, where we obtain angular distributions different from previous experimental results, however, partly in good agreement with recent phenomenological and theoretical predictions. In particular we observe very large anisotropies for the $pi^0$ angular distributions in the kinematical region of small relative proton momenta revealing there a dominance of proton spinflip transitions associated with $pi^0$ $s$- and $d$-partial waves and emphasizing the important role of $pi^0$ d-waves.

Collective behaviors of secondary particles in pp-interactions at 70 GeV/c are researched. The Two Stage Gluon Model is supposed for describing of processes with very high multiplicity. It is shown that gluons play the active role in the multiparticl e dynamics. Analysis of multiplicity distributions of charged, neutral particles and total multiplicity gives the thermodynamic meaning of these interactions. The mechanism of the soft photon formation as signature of the quark-gluon system considered.
The results of treatment of data obtained in the SERP-E-184experiment Investigation of mechanisms of the production of charmed particles in proton-nucleus interactions at 70 GeV and their decays by irradiating the active target of the SVD-2 facility consisting of carbon, silicon, and lead plates, are presented. After separating a signal from the two-particle decay of neutral charmed mesons and estimating the cross section for charm production at a threshold energy {sigma}(cv{c})=7.1 pm 2.4(stat.) pm 1.4(syst.) mub/nucleon, some properties of D mesons are investigated. These include the dependence of the cross section on the target mass number (its A dependence); the behavior of the differential cross sections d{sigma}/dpt2 and d{sigma}/dxF; and the dependence of the parameter {alpha} on the kinematical variables xF, pt2, and plab. The experimental results in question are compared with predictions obtained on the basis of the FRITIOF7.02 code.
A search for centrally produced charmonium states has been presented. There is no significant evidence for any charmonium production. An upper limit of 2 nb is found for the cross section of chic production using the decay chic(1P)-> J/psi gamma.
